I actually found myself enjoying this, having never seen "electrowoman and
dyna-girl" before,and missing "lidsville" too.
One thing you CAN say about sid and marty, they sure made different/weird
shows!
I do have some complaints though...
I would have liked to see the whole "Sid and Marty krofft supershow"
not just the "dyna-girl" segments(You know, they had a genie and a talking
car too in other segments...)
I would have liked to see episodes never released on video for "pufnstuf"
and the others too...
The "voice over" and the end of EVERY ESPISODE shown is totally anoying
and covered up the ending theme music on the shows(which is usually
different than the opening music)(Honestly, couldn't they have just shown on
the screen,"next up-the bugaloos" during the end credits?)

They should have late-night 2 hours of these each week....

Just my opinions...
bye,
Aaron

I was stunned as I watched this. I seemed to remember HR Pufnstuff as a
cute benign show as a kid...it came across last weekend as acid
nightmare...and CHEAP and sloppy too! I'm talkin' Barney the Dinosaur
cheap and sloppy, and that's saying something...

What was really frightening was the Sid & Marty Live special that
included...THE BRADY KIDS!!! ARRRGGHHHH!!!!

Was it just me or did that first episode of H.R. Pufnstuff remind you of "the

Well, I have to respond to this, though it's so OTP it hurts. Or maybe
it isnt' since surely some of those movies are our heroes' worst
nightmares...

As a child, I had a recurring nightmare that the cat in the hat was
chasing me. If I could draw, I could draw the scene...it is still that
vivid and I ain't had that dream for...oh, maybe 20 years...

Another one I can remember well is having a little slimy 6-inch Howard Cosell

So wait... you dreamed about Itchy and Scratchy? Wow. You were prescient
in your dreams...

Kevin, you are one messed-up dude! No more than the rest of us, but
there you go. ;)

Personally, I don't remember any of my dreams from childhood, except
the falling ones. You know, where you're falling and you can feel it and
you wake up in a cold sweat with your heart pounding and try to fall
back asleep right away so you can dream about it again...

It was then I decided I was destined to be a figure skater. Or a para-
chutist. Either one involves a lot of falling.

"You will bow down before me, Jar-el!" Amazingly, almost everyone
got it. In fact, I got in an argument over whether it was Jar-el or
Kal-el. Either way, we watch *way* too many movies around here.

I'm not sure that ANYTHING is off-topic in this group. Certainly not
pop-culture icons from our (non-overlapping) youths. These icons are
the basis of most of the references in MST3K, and part of its fun. Any
wallowing in the debris in the attic of our minds fits right into the spirit
of the show, and can enhance our appreciation of it.

MST3K is not only about the cheesy movies, but also about the minor
cultural artifacts we all carry around but seldom think about.

How about being terrified by recuring nightmares of Grover and Bert from
'Sesame Street'? _Real_ spooky when you're five years old, and Grover is
running around your house, hiding in dark rooms and popping out to bite you,
which makes you pass out just long enough for him to run somewhere else and do
it again! To this day, the thought of that little blue fur-ball can still give
me the willies.

Really surprized he's telling everybody this,
it being one of my most embarrasing subjects and all...

This was an amazing experience... I had to tape it.

I remember seeing "Lidsville" when very young. (I didn't remember the
name, though). I remember the opening sequence scaring the heck out me.
I never got into HR Pufnstuf, but for some reason Dyna-Girl really did
something to me at that age.

The live show with the Brady kids was amazing, horrifying : )
What were we thinking?

> I would have liked to see the whole "Sid and Marty krofft supershow"

The Krofft Supershow was a way of padding out limited material, I think.
Does anyone know how many episodes actually exist of each show?

Did the Kroffts do "Wonderbug," or was that something added later? I
missed Wonderbug. Are there any others not shown?

Are these available on video?

Agreed, the music was one of the best thing about the shows.

Yes, I would like to have a complete run of each show. Apparently
there are 43 episodes of Land of the Lost!

Maybe there's a krofft FAQ somewhere?

I found a Land of the Lost page at:

Interesting tidbit: David Gerrold is listed as a story editor
