This has got to be the dumbest decision I have ever seen in a TV
series. What the dimwits at Disney seemed to have missed, when they
were in university, was the power of media. A show of this nature is
as successful as it is because it is "real". Let me break it down for
you.

1. The costumes are exactly the same as in the comic books.
2. The characters are authentic e.g. Kang the Conquerer, Skrulls
3. Thor is Thor, Captain Americe is finally Captain America
4. The show watches like a comic book.
5. All of the Avengers have diverse personalities and the magic is
their interactions.
6. People cannot get enough, don't believe me if this show was on
local cable it would be even more so, one of the most popular cartoons
around.

What Mr Leob does not see is that those observations apply to every
generation that has lived with the Avengers. Stories that took me away
as a child, adolescent and teenager are realized; Micheal Korvac,
Captain Marvell, Ms Marvel, Hawkeye, Ant Man, Power Man and Iron Fist,
The Leader, the Ufoes, Baron Zemo, AIM, THE COSMIC CUBE. Doesn't he
realize that there are over 60 years of data to draw inspiration from?
This would be the dumbest move that anyone in the media could ever do.
As the world at large spirals into a very surreal social quagmire. It
is nice to watch a show that actually positively inspires you.

Cap: "Now remember watch out for civilians"
Hulk: "Is that why you teamed up wih me, because you think I am a
monster"
Cap: "Stow that talk, in my day there's only one name for people like
you."

The rest I'm sure anyone reading this knows. The show started like
Justice League in the first episodes and ended like Justice League
Unlimited by the end of the first season. The plethora of characters
and the powerful, underlying themes

Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes cartoon cancelled

$#&* you Loeb.

"Matching the movie line-up" (the bullshit excuse I've heard bandied
about) is a bad excuse. Widow is the only movie team member missing,
and she could have easily been brought on, since she was still on AEMH
in a guest capacity. Having EXTRA members (several which the story
says may be added later anyway) isn't hurting the show.

Its all about dumbing it down, the same way they did Spider-Man, and
reportedly are doing with the Hulk show. Making it for kids but ONLY
for kids. Not All-ages and working for all, but playing DOWN to kids,
so that the sharper kids will probably get bored with it anyway.

The refrain I keep hearing from people about USMA, for example, goes
like this: "my six year old nephew loves it". Wow. Look, I'm all for
making Superhero product for kids to entice them to buy comics, so
that it helps give the industry another generation. But the kids who
stay with comics are the ones who are challenged by them, not spoon-
fed. Look at animated shows like Kim Possible. Or Dexter's Laboratory.
Or old skool, stuff like Scooby Doo. Maybe they didn't feed into comic
books, but they DID show that "kids shows" can work well if built with
layers for all ages of viewers. USM and the rest of the Loeb-favored
product coming down the pike? I'm thinking won't.
