Meanwhile...
Crossover Queen chuckled evilly. Her master plan had worked; some
unsuspecting fool had actually split the net.Earth into several
different continuities! Seperately, they were each vulnerable to
her insidious temporal/spacial invasion. She turned to the cowering
Royalty King.
"The Ultimate Crossover has begun! The confusion it creates shall
now keep the net.heroes busy as I take over each of their worlds! And
the best thing is that they do _my_ bidding! Bwah-ha-ha-ha-ha!"
"B-b-but have the appropriate licensing fees been paid?" Royalty
King whimpered.
The Queen's laugh abruptly ended. "You fool! You mindless insect!
You forget who you speak to! I shall rule all the net.continuum!
Royalties?! Ha! Characters are my playthings!"
Several realities away, the shock wave from the splitting of the
net.Earth hit one Earth. As fate would have it, it was the one that
the Continuity Champ was on. Floating amongst the debris, he had a
sudden insight as to why this had happened. At last, his destiny was
to be fulfilled!
However, he could not join the LNH so long as Captain Continuity was
on the team (some dumb clause about similar nicknames confusing the
media). The Champion realized that his only hope in stopping the on-
coming destruction of all the net.Earths lay in going back in time and
assuming the role of some minor character, one who joined the LNH
_before_ Captain Continuity, thereby making the Captain the new-comer,
the one who was required to leave. Of course, if he had read some of
the older pre-Crisis LSH's, he would have known that all he really had
to do was change the Captain's powers, but, unfortunately, he hadn't.
So, with a blinding explosion of burnt sienna light, he was gone.
On earth.net.prime, one of the heroes smiled grimly (though it was
difficult, at best, to tell due to the mask).
But which one was it?
TO BE CONTINUED... (hopefully without any convenient world-
splitting)
