Following bgodot's message on rec.arts.comics about a week ago concerning
General Products, I called a very reliable source to find out what's
going on, last week and last nite.

General Products USA is alive and still doing business. Within the past
couple of weeks, it has come under the COMPLETE control Americans (one
can only guess at the Japanese execs' reasons for this), so now it seems
Craig York and Shon Howell are fully in charge. If you have an address
for GP in Oakland, San Jose, or even Mesquite - please take note: their
current address is: 2129 Pacific Avenue, Alameda, CA 94501.
If you're thinking of ordering something from GP, get in touch with them
first. In all likelihood, PRICES WILL BE COMING DOWN to more realistic
levels. They should be at AnimeCon (been planning it for months), but
I don't know if the company will be around much longer after that.

PS Concerning the BITFTP message I wrote earlier. After some rechecking
and experimenting, I've confirmed that BITFTP from internet is possible
from at least ONE location. BITFTP is supposed to be for bitnet and
bitearn users only. In fact, that's how I was able to read r.a.anime
messages from July 8 to July 29 - by pulling them off a location
individually by BITFTP.
