[Magic Knight Rayearth] US Version?

With "Sailor Moon" reportedly doing well on the Cartoon Network has there been
any reported renewal of interest in bringing "Rayearth" to US TV? The project
fell through due to a number of factors including "Sailor Moon's" poor initial
performance in the ratings.

I'm happy that Cartoon Network is happy with Sailor Moon.
Maybe there will be enough interest that both will see
happy times again. ^_^

BTW, where did you get this information? Maybe I should
go bug them myself. ^_-

This information is quite old and provoked considerable debate in this
newsgroup. TMS acquired the rights to "Magic Knight Rayearth" for broadcast on
US TV. A dubbed pilot was even made and I saw a bit of it at FanimeCon 96. The
names of the heroines were changed and I'm sure edits were planned. Reportedly
the initial dub was rejected and the lackluster performance of "Sailor Moon"
damped any interest in continuing the project and the rights reverted back to
their japanese holders. This is all speculation, however, except for the
existence of the pilot. That I saw with my own eyes. With the increasing
popularity of "Sailor Moon", "Dragonball" and "Dragonball Z" it would appear
that the time was ripe for renewed interest in "Rayearth". Certainly Working
Designs is pressing ahead with an August release of the game despite the death
of the Sega Saturn.
