Day 1: Sunday, November 24

Today was a good day, but then again every Sunday usually is. With no
school and no cooking for the whole day, Ukyo could finally take a break from
the week. She did; however, have to eat breakfast.

It was bright and early Sunday morning in Nerima. Ukyo had just brought in
the morning paper and was busy cooking a little okonomiyaki for breakfast. She
finished it off with a few words drawn in sauce before placing it on a plate.

"Ranchan and Ucchan," she read on her okonomiyaki. "Oh, that reminds me.
I should mark this on my calendar."

Ukyo walked over to one of her walls and wrote on her calendar.

// November 23, made pact //

"Let's see, today is day 1, so day 90 would be..? Hrm..."

She reached across the counter for her calculator and then quickly
calculated the date while flipping through different months of the calendar.

"February 21st, a Friday. Hmm.. perfect for a date!"

With a smile Ukyo marked the date on her calendar and went over to finish
her breakfast.

As soon as Ranma stepped into the kitchen, he knew it was too late.

"Get back her Ranma!" shouted Akane as he was hastily leaving the kitchen.

"Shoot!" said Ranma while snapping his fingers.

"I baked something special for you this morning since you missed my fresh
batch of cookies yesterday."

"Uh, no. That's okay. I don't think I should eat cookies before lunch."

"Don't worry, I didn't bake cookies."

Akane produces a plate with some weirdly shaped uh.. (How do you describe
Akane's cooking anyways? Oh well, I'll try my best.) She produces a plate of
amorphously irregular.. bread rolls.

As Ranma takes a step back in horror, Akane shoves the plate into his face.

"Here! Try some!" said Akane with a smile. "I made them myself!"

"Uh.. what are they? Dinner rolls?"

"They're croissants!"

Ranma falls backward. Akane just glares at him.

"Well, go on and try one!" said Akane who was starting to get a little
angry.

Ranma stood up and started brushing himself off.

"Oh Akane, it's Sunday. I don't want to miss school all next we..."

He looked at her and gulped.

"Oops.."

"RANMA!!"

Akane pulled out her mallet and down it went.

*SLAM*

And down went Ranma.

* * * * * *

Ryoga pulled out a map of China and looked at it.

"Let's see, how to get to Furinkan high school..."

He was obviously lost. For Ryoga though, this wasn't anything new. He was
always lost.

"Excuse me, do you know where Furinkan high school is?"

The man looked at him and mumbled something in English.

// Bah! Japanese tourists! //

He pointed off towards the south.

// Disney Land. That way! //

"Oh, thank you!"

Ryoga starts running off into the distance with the sun shining behind him.

"Maybe I can make it back before lunch starts!"

* * * * * *

Yes, it was Sunday. Kuno was outside practicing a few swings at stuffed
Ranma dolls. Kodachi was in her lab mixing unknown chemicals together.
Shampoo was cooking some ramen for Ranma. Mousse was trying to get her
attention. Cologne was watching the restaurant. Happosai was on another panty
raid. Nabiki was busy thinking of additional ways to make money. Kasumi was
vacuuming the Tendo residence. Soun and Genma were playing another game of
Shogi. Ukyo was sitting in the park thinking about Ranma. Ryoga was running
across the United States. Akane was trying to get Ranma to eat some of her
cooking. Ranma was trying to think up an excuse that wouldn't get him
clobbered.

Nothing important ever happens on a Sunday. Sundays are boring. Let's
skip to the next day. Ah, here we go!

Waiting for Ranma

Part 1

Ryoga's First Day At School
===========================

Day 2: Monday, November 25

Ukyo pulled herself out of bed early Monday morning. Time is money, and
time's a wasten' if you sleep. Gosh she thought, she was starting to sound
like Nabiki.

With a yawn she got herself dressed and opened her restaurant nice and
early at 7 for the morning crowd. After a few minutes and after cooking a few
okonomiyakis for her customers, she was wide awake and ready for the school
day.

Suddenly, the door to her restaurant slid open.

"WHERE IS FURINKAN HI-"

*SMACK*

With incredible speed, Ukyo had managed to fling an okonomiyaki into
Ryoga's face.

"Shut up you jackass! You're gonna scare away my customers!"

Ryoga removed the okonomiyaki from his face and took a few bites out of it.

Not bad. He really could've used this for breakfast considering how long he
had been running for the past few days with little to eat. He made a note to
come back here a lot more often if he could only find the place.

"Sorry about that Ukyo. Oh, by the way, thanks for breakfast!"

"Hey, don't start thinking that you can just get a free meal if you come in
here screaming every morning."

"Heh, wouldn't think of it."

He was about to step outside when Ukyo called to him. "Hey, how about
giving me a hand with the clean up."

"Sorry, I have to go to Furinkan high school to beat up Ranma. Later!"

"Yeah, like you could actually find your way there!"

"Hey, shut up! I made it there before!"

"Quit your yapping and hang around to clean up. If you do I'll drag you
over to school."

Ryoga just stood there for a minute. Guess he didn't quite understand.

"Or didn't you forget? I actually go to school," said Ukyo.

Ryoga walked over to the counter and laid his backpack and umbrella down
next to him.

"Think I can have a drink?"

"Sure thing sugar."

Ukyo poured a cup of tea and handed it over to him.

"How come you don't go to school anymore? Can't find it on time?"

Ryoga took a sip of his tea and smirked. "Well.. it's just inconvenient,
that's all."

"Really? Speaking of inconvenient, where do you actually sleep?"

"Over at Aka.."

Ryoga stopped himself just in time. That probably wouldn't have been a
good thing to say.

"I don't know, anywhere I guess," said Ryoga.

"Oh, guess you're used to it."

Ukyo went over to cook up a few more okonomiyakis for her customers before
it was time to start cleaning up. She looked over at the calendar and sighed.
Three months was a long time, but she could probably wait it out. She went
back to cooking and hummed a little tune.

"I thought today was Monday," said Ryoga. "Your weekend's over. Why are
you so happy?"

"Just thinking about the future, that's all."

* * * * * *

With the extra help from Ryoga, she could afford to spend a few extra
minutes to lead him back onto the right path. Still, was it worth it?

"Not that way stupid! This way!" shouted Ukyo.

"Sorry about that..."

Finally they reached the high school. School would start in a few minutes
so Ukyo left Ryoga near one of the trees and ran off to class.

"Hey, where are you going?" asked Ryoga.

"I have class stupid! Don't leave the school grounds or you'll get lost
again!" shouted Ukyo as she ran into the high school.

Ryoga walked to the center of the yard and looked up at the massive school.

Great he thought. That was an incredibly large school. How in the world was
he to find Ranma in that? Suddenly, he heard people running in the distance.

"Huh?" said Ryoga as he turned around.

Ranma and Akane were running towards him. They were going to be late for
school again.

Ryoga quickly picked up his umbrella and held it poised to attack.

"This time Ranma, you're going to.. UMF!"

"Akane Tendo I challenge you!" shouted Kuno as he knocked over Ryoga and ran
towards the couple.

Ranma and Akane simultaneously jumped into the air and kicked Kuno in the
face on their way down. They continued running towards the school and trampled
over Ryoga.

* * * * * *

"Did you notice something different about this morning Akane?" asked Ranma.

"Now that I think about it, yeah."

"Let's see..."

Ranma pulled out a sheet of paper and started listing events.

- Woke up.
- Sparred with pop.

"Ranma, I think it was somewhere near the end."

"Oh yeah, you're right Akane."

- Walked on fence. Akane walked on sidewalk.
- Got in fight.
- Started running with Akane on sidewalk.
- Ran into school yard.
- Knocked out Kuno.
- Ran into school.
- Ran to class.

"Wait a sec, back up. I think the running into school was a bit rough. I
think I almost tripped," said Akane.

"Oh, must've been that. Some idiot must've left his stuff in the middle of
the yard."

"Oh, probably that. He should be more careful."

* * * * * *

"Damn you Ranma..." cursed Ryoga as he collapsed onto the ground.

* * * * * *

"Hey you guys!" called Ukyo as she ran over to Ranma's and Akane's lunch
circle.

It was a nice sunny Monday afternoon so most people were eating outside in
the school yard in front of school.

"Have any of you seen Ryoga?"

"Ryoga?" questioned Akane.

"Oh, Ryoga's here? He's probably off lost somewhere," replied Ranma.

"Why do you ask? Is he starting school?" asked Akane.

"Nah, I just left him out here before school started. Was hoping that he
wasn't going to go get himself lost."

**********

Note: Due to a lack of familiarity with Ranma's and Akane's actual friends,
I'll try to create their personalities. Here's to Daisuke and Hiroshi along
with Kira and Mikoshi.

"Hello!" said Kira.

"How ya doing?" said Mikoshi.

"We're gonna be Akane's friends through this fanfic," said the two girls.

"Doesn't that just suck? I mean we have to actually be made up." said Mikoshi.

"Yeah, I know what you mean, unlike those guys," said Kira while pointing to
the smiling Daisuke and Hiroshi.

"Hey, Jeff didn't even read the Manga. He has to actually "make up" our
personalities," complained Hiroshi.

"Yeah man. He'll probably make us some obnoxious people like that Kuno guy,"
said Daisuke.

"Or give us all a bad sense of direction like that Ryoga idiot," said Hiroshi.

"Oh my gosh, you're right!" exclaimed Kira.

"Yeah, the twerp will probably make the two of us seem like uncute tomboys like
Akane."

Kira and Mikoshi both shiver while Daisuke and Hiroshi both look like they're
going to be sick.

"Wait, is this gonna be printed?" asked Daisuke.

"Holy $#1+!!" shouted Hiroshi.

"Oh man are we in hot water," said Mikoshi.

"Quick quick!! Next scene!" shouted the four of them.

**********

"Well, if you know Ryoga as well as I do he'll probably be halfway China by
now," said Ranma.

"Isn't that the guy that you beat up on the soccer field?" questioned
Daisuke.

"Yeah, he's probably the one. No sense of direction," replied Hiroshi.

"Maybe, but he's strong enough to beat YOU up," said Kira as she elbowed
Hiroshi.

Mikoshi thought for a sec. "You know Kira, just those teeth alone could
send the both of them running for the hills."

"Yeah, whatever. It's good to see him lost. Gives me time to relax," said
Ranma.

"Don't any of you guys ever worry about him? After all he probably sleeps
on the ground ever night," said Ukyo.

"Really?" asked Kira.

"You mean he doesn't just walk home and sleep?" asked Akane.

Everyone seated around the table looks over at Akane and gives her the "Do
you know what you just said" look.

* * * * * *

Ryoga might've had no sense of direction but at least he wasn't a complete
idiot. He stayed within the boundaries of the school and walked aimlessly from
soccer field to tennis courts to cooking class and to the roof of Furinkan high
school.

"WHERE IN THE WORLD AM I NOW?!"

A barrage of calculators and erasers flew at him. He had walked into a
Calculus class during an exam and had met swift response from the annoyed
students.

Today, was not his day. He wasn't even attending school. Well today he
WAS "attending" school and it wasn't much fun for him. After running through
the halls of Furinkan high he finally managed to make his way outside.

"Whew, no more classrooms and hallways."

Before he knew it, he was lost again.

Around him stood trees and no sign of civilization. He couldn't have left
the campus. No, he knew he didn't. Then where the heck was he?

After walking for a few minutes through the trees and bushes he comes
across a wall.

"Thank goodness I found a building. Maybe I should ask for directions."

With his hand against the wall to avoid getting lost again, Ryoga carefully
moved to the other side of the building and found the door. He did what he
always did when he was lost and needed directions.

Ryoga opened the door and shouted, "Where is Fur-UGN!"

Before he knew it he was hit hard by what felt like a battering ram. It
sent him flying through the air and into a tree a few dozen meters away.

"There we go girls! I think we got him!" came Akane's voice from inside
the room.

A dozen girls dressed in P.E. attire while wielding baseball bats ran out
of the girls locker room and looked around for the little pervert.

"Where did the little pervert go?" shouted one of the girls.

"Drat! He got away again!" shouted Akane.

After another quick look-around the girls all walked back into the locker
room. Ryoga, meanwhile was lying on a branch in a nearby tree. He shook his
head and tried to break out of his daze.

"Wh-what the hell was that?"

As if things couldn't get worst, the branch he was lying on broke and he
went tumbling face-first into the ground. As he lied there on the ground a few
yards from the girls locker room he heard a scream.

"Hey, our panties are gone!" shouted a girl.

Happosai jumped out of the locker room and landed on Ryoga's head. He
continued running into the distance while toting a bag full of women's
underwear.

"What a haul! What a haul!"

"Come back here!" shouted Akane.

She and a dozen girls ran out of the girls locker room while armed with
their clubs. They ran after the little pervert but not before stampeding all
over Ryoga.

Normally Ryoga, like any other martial artist, could survive a heavy
beating. Martial artists were trained to endure punches, kicks, flying
spatulas, Kuno's poetry, and of course huge freaken blasts of chi. There were;
however, a few things out there which no martial artist could possibly
withstand.

These included:

- Insults
- Trampling From a Huge Mob
- The Akane Uppercut (TM)
- The Akane Mallet Slam (TM)

And of course the most feared:

- Akane's Cooking

Today was just another bad day for Ryoga. He'd been slammed, trampled,
knocked over, and had stuff thrown at him. He could use a break.

"Oww.." mumbled Ryoga as he went unconscious.

* * * * * *

The school day was finally over. Students started running over to their
favorite hang out place. Ranma and Akane would walk home together but Ukyo
would have to go home alone and open her restaurant for the evening customers.
She didn't like being alone, but at least the restaurant and it's business kept
her company.

"Take care Ranchan! You too Akane!" shouted Ukyo as she waved to them.

"Cya later Ucchan, I'll try to come by later today!" shouted Ranma in
return.

Akane frowned and gave Ranma an elbow to the stomach. "Would you quit
thinking about your stomach?!"

With Ranma and Akane walking home, Ukyo quietly walked along the streets to
her okonomiyaki restaurant. Work and more work. But if Ranma would come by to
say "hi" then it would all be worth the effort. She smiled as she walked on.

"That reminds me, I haven't seen Ryoga around. Oh well. If that jackass
can't even keep himself from getting lost in the school yard then that's his
problem."

* * * * * *

Business was going as usual over at her okonomiyaki restaurant. With all
the cooking and taking orders she didn't have much time to work on her
homework. It'd have to wait till after she cleaned up.

"Hiya Ucchan!" shouted Ranma as he walked in.

"Nice to see you Ranchan. You came by pretty quickly."

"Well you see.." said Ranma while motioning Ukyo to come closer so he could
whisper. "As soon as I saw her put on her apron I knew things were gonna get
ugly. I got the heck out of there as soon as I possibly could."

"Oh really?"

"Yup," said Ranma while leaning back in his chair. "You never know what
she's going to make. It's like she's making a death warrant or someth-"

*SLAM*

"I heard that Ranma!" shouted Akane.

She grabbed Ranma by the collar and proceeded to drag him out of the
restaurant. Ukyo just stood there and watched.

"Ranma you dolt. I find you over here ready to eat something when you're
supposed to taste test my cooking!"

Ukyo gave a shiver when Akane said this. Sure she never really did taste
her cooking but from what it sounded like, it must've been extremely bad.

"Well, so much for that," said Ukyo with a sigh.

That was pretty much the highlight of her day. It wasn't much, but Ranma
had gotten close to her and whispered in her ear. That was at least something.

Ukyo gave a small smile and went back to flipping an okonomiyaki.

* * * * * *

"Okay Ranma, tell me how you think this tastes."

"No Akane, don't! That, that's not fair!"

Ranma was strapped into a chair. He couldn't move his arms; he could
hardly even squirm. And right here was Akane, armed with a small plate of..
well for the sake of argument we'll call them muffins. It was him and his
stomach against Akane and her cooking. To put things simple, he was a dead
man.

"Quit your whining Ranma!" snapped Akane. "This is what you get for
sneaking out of the house when you were supposed to taste test my cooking!"

"Come on Akane!" pleaded Ranma. "Everyone knows your cooking is not up to
par."

"Hmph! Well just try this. I learned this in cooking class today and
believe me, it's gonna taste good!"

"Come on Akane, face it. Your cooking is horrible. Didn't you even taste
test it fir-RMFGH!"

Akane had shoved a muffin into Ranma's mouth. She readies her mallet and
watches Ranma carefully while he slowly chews the muffin and swallows it.

"What did you do that for?!" shouted Ranma.

"Well? How did it taste?"

"It tasted..."

Ranma paused to think it over for a second. Why was he still alive? He
looked around the room for a second; vital signs were good. He tried focusing
his eyes, that worked. Strange. He didn't feel light-headed. He didn't feel
sick. He didn't fe-

"WELL?!" shouted Akane.

"It was.. edible..." said Ranma with a confused look on his face.

"Really? Do you really mean it?" asked Akane.

<This cannot be right. I'm still breathing. Am I dreaming?>

"Could you, um, pinch me Akane."

"Could I what?"

"Pinch me, I think I'm dreaming. Your cooking was actually edible. Next
thing I know Shampoo will chase after Mousse and Ryoga will be able to find his
way."

Akane ignored Ranma's comments. She had actually managed to cook some
muffins that Ranma thought were "edible". He didn't hurl, he didn't complain,
he didn't have stomach pains, he didn't even spit it out. Akane walked out of
the kitchen with a dazed look on her face.

"Um, Akane. Can you untie me now? Please?"

* * * * * *

Akane was having a good day. Ukyo was having an okay day. Ranma was
having a confused day. Ryoga, well Ryoga was just having a really bad day.

After school ended he gained consciousness and started walking back to
town. An hour later he was still in Nerima. This was probably due to the fact
that in addition to slowly moving, he was slowly getting lost. With his
backpack on his back and his umbrella acting as a walking stick, Ryoga made his
way slowly through the streets of Nerima.

"Maybe.. I had better ask for.. directions..."

Ryoga walked to the side of the road and stood against the wall to rest for
a bit. After gathering up his strength he walked over to the nearest door and
opened it.

"WHERE IS THE TENDO RESI-"

*SMACK*

With incredible speed, Ukyo had thrown her algebra 2 book into Ryoga's
face. If only he knew how thick her biology book was; he'd be thanking his
lucky stars right about now.

"You jackass! At least my customers are gone but did you have to disturb
my studying?!"

Ukyo's algebra 2 book falls off of Ryoga's face and lands into his hands.

"Sorry.. Ukyo..."

And with those words he falls forward and collapses onto the ground.

* * * * * *

Ryoga wasn't familiar with school life. It had been a while since the last
time he actually studied. Tonight; however, he hit the books. Although it was
more like the book hit him, either way it was a painful experience.

"Didn't see you at lunch or after school."

"Huh?" replied Ryoga.

Ukyo had noticed through her intensive studying that he had gained
consciousness.

"Didn't I tell you not to leave the school grounds?" said Ukyo without
looking up from her book.

Ryoga got off the ground and took a seat by the counter where Ukyo was
studying.

"I didn't, I was just taking a tour around the school," replied Ryoga.

"You look pretty bad. Did you have a nice day at school today?"

"Don't want to talk about it..." mumbled Ryoga.

"Hey," said Ukyo. "Why were you looking for directions to the Tendo's
anyways?"

"Need Akane..." mumbled Ryoga who was half-awake. "Need sleep..."

"Should've known."

Ukyo just sat their and sighed. She felt sorry for the guy and couldn't
stand to see him sleep outside. She went upstairs and brought down a pillow
and a blanket.

"Here you go sugar, make yourself a bed over there."

Ryoga took the pillow and blanket and collapsed onto the ground.

"Good.. night.. Ukyo..." said Ryoga as he drifted off into sleep.

Ukyo took a seat and resumed her homework. She looked over at the sleeping
Ryoga and smiled.

"Good night Ryoga."
