Okay people. I've read some Ranma/Eva fics out there and so have you. I am
all for the Ranma idea that Ranma is all powerful later in his life, but come
on how in the world can someone come out of no where and start doing these
amazing things with an Eva? Shinji Shinji Shinji. He has his mother helping
him. :P This shall be original. Hope you all like it and all C&C are
welcome.
Tell me what you think for I know some of you out there are not going to be
happy with this chapter. For everyone who has been waitng the battle scene of
PF.

"Are you okay Ranma?" Misato asked. She had seen the same reaction
from
Shinji the first time he was introduced to LCL.
"I think I'm going to be sick," replied Ranma. Over the past two years
he had grown a little paranoid around water. First, he was a man and wanted
to stay that way and second he hated being hit on by guys. Although he didn't
have his curse anymore, it still made him a little uneasy and now he was
breathing water.
"Are you a man or what, Ranma!" Misato tried really hard not to laugh.
Ranma's reaction to the LCL was identical to that of Shinji's.
"What did you say? I AM A GUY!" Ranma shouted back angrily. There
were
a few things that could anger Ranma so easily and one being his manhood.
*Wow! I never expected a reaction like that from him.* Misato thought.
*Mental note : Do not make fun of his gender.* "Calm down Ranma. It was just
a joke."
Scowling at Misato through the Eva's communication link, Ranma prepared
himself. "Yeah, I'm ready."
"Set language parameters to Japanese, Maya. Begin activation of Eva
Unit
03!" Ritsuko instructed.
"Beginning activation."
"Approaching border line."
"Border line reached......and passed."
"Activation complete. Sync rate is at 28%."
"That's good isn't it?" Ranma asked. He heard the whole operation
through the inner speakers of his Eva plug.
"It's okay Ranma. Well within operational standards." Misato assured
him. *I've never seen a syncronization rate this low before. Not even Toji's
was that low.* Misato commented to herself. *Can't let him know how low his
sync rate is right before the battle with the angel.*
*Strange. I expected these readings to be a lot higher than this.*
Ritsuko had expected Ranma's sync rate to be close if not higher than the
other
Eva pilots expect maybe Shinji's. *He did come from an Eva.*
"Rei, Ranma get ready." Misato commanded.
Rei was stunned. After everything that she had seen Ranma accomplished
throughout the day, she had expected him to have an extremely high sync rate.
*With a sync rate of 28%, Ranma was going to have a lot of trouble piloting
the
Unit.* The bare minimum was 25%. Anything lower and the reaction time
between
pilot and Eva would be more than a second. Her own sync rate was around 68%.
"Launch Evas!!"
Sparks could be seen as both the blue and black Evas were catapulted to
the surface.
"Rei, you have point. Keep the angel away from Ranma to give him enough
time to get acquainted when the Eva. Ranma try to see if you can make the Eva
walk." Misato instructed.
"Okay!" replied both pilots.
In front of both Evas was a brownish Angel. On both of its sides were
ribbon-like arms. In the middle of its chest was a reddish sphere. In short
it was ugly.
*Walk. All I have to do is make this thing walk. Why isn't it
walking?
Come on, walk darn it! * Ranma thought.
"Anytime now Ranma. Rei is going to need help." Misato urged. *Come
on
Ranma, hurry up and move.* A smile came to her face as she saw the Eva move.
"Yes! Way to go Ranma."
*Finally. I think I am getting the hang of this. Why is this thing
moving so slowly though?* Ranma could see Rei's Eva dodging and firing at the
Angel with no problem. *Got to help her. Move faster!!* "Arg, this stupid
piece of junk to broken. It's not moving fast enough. Is it rusted or
something? Why couldn't you give me an Eva like Rei's. Something that works
so I can go and beat the crap out of that Angel? Stupid machine, move!"
Ranma
was mad. He was helpless while a girl was fighting a monster by herself and
to
top it off she was also defending him.
Ranma was not the only one who was mad. "Ranma no baka!" Ritsuko
shouted. Never had anyone degraded her work like this before nor anyone so
young. "That Eva is working perfectly. Stop complaining and go help Rei."
"Shinji, Asuka and Toji have just arrived."
Misato turned toward Ritsuko. She was surprised at her outburst.
"Thanks Maya."
"Interesting. I thought he might do better than this." Gendou
commented.
"So did I." Fuyuzuki replied. "What should we do?"
"Saotome is expendable. The Eva is not. Major Katsuragi eject the
entry
plug and power down the Eva. Saotome is of no help and I do not want the
Angel
seeing Unit 03 as a threat."
"But Commander, give Ranma a few more minutes. I know he'll pull
through."
"Do as I ordered Major."
"Ranma, I sorry but we are ejecting the entry plug. You're not having
much progress and Unit 01 and 02 will be ready soon. We can not endanger the
Eva. Maya, eject the entry plug."
*Why isn't Ranma here? He should have been here by now.* Rei thought.
Returning her attention back to the Angel, Rei quickly dodged one of its
ribbon-like arms. "Excuse me Major where is Unit 03?"
"I'm sorry Rei but Ranma did not sync with the Eva well enough to be of
any use. We are ejecting the entry plug. Standby for Unit 01 and 02, they
should be there in about 5 minutes."
"I understand." Rei was still puzzled, *Why was Ranma doing so bad? He
was doing worse than Suzuhara.* From a secondary display screen, she could
see
the entry plug being ejected from the Eva, right before a blast hit her Eva in
the chest.
Ranma followed the conversation up until they told him that he had
failed. *What? I am Saotome Ranma. I never lose! Not my fault this hunk of
junk is brok....* Ranma thoughts were cut off as he saw Rei's Eva take an
energy blast to the chest. "Rei!!!" That was all he could see as he felt
himself being ejected from the Eva.
The blast had stunned Rei. Trying to avoid the next blast, the umbilical
cord was caught by some debris and was torn from the Eva. She had only 5
minutes of power left if she did not deploy her AT field. 1 minute if she
did.
Rei couldn't handle another blast like that. Deploying her At Field, Rei
charged the Angel with Prog Knife in hand.
"How much longer until Unit 01 and Unit 02 are ready for launch?"
Gendou
asked. Beneath the calm, uncaring exterior, he carried feelings for Rei.
Part
of him loved her as a daughter and another part sees her as the woman he had
lost. The love he could not give Shinji while he was growing, he had tried to
give to Rei. He also cared for Shinji but felt guilt everytime he looks at
his
son. He felt guilty for tearing Yuri away from him. That guilt had soon
created a void between father and son.
"They are preparing to launch in 2 minutes," Maya informed Gendou.
It was looking bad for Rei. In less than a minute, her Eva had
sustained
heavy damage. At least her AT Field had neutralized the Angel's field. She
had been able slice off one of its arms. Seeing the next attack coming, Rei
started to dodge but found she could not move. Seeing how the counter had
reached 00:00:00, she prepared for the intense pain that will soon flood her
nervous system. 3 seconds ... 2 seconds ... Rei was counting down until the
ribbon-like arm impelled her Eva. As she reached one second, a blue energy
beam suddenly strucked the Angel. Although the blast scantly damaged the
monster, it threw the Angel off-balanced making it miss its intended target.
Ranma was breathing hard. The instant the entry plug had landed, Ranma
had destroyed the hatch with a ki blast. After seeing how Rei had lost an
arm,
Ranma decided to even things up. Looking up from where he stood, he started
to
search for a better position to launch a ki blast at the Angel. Finding an
appropriate building he started his accent by bouncing between two adjoining
buildings. The climb had been harder than he thought. Gathering as much ki
as
possible, he launched a blue beam at the Angel shouting out, "MOUKO
TAKABISHA!"
After the energy had left his body, Ranma collapsed to one knee then passed
out.
