Tour De Clack (short for Clackamas… it's a River and a County in Oregon)

The TDC was promoted as an informative bike ride around the Clackamas River watershed with stops at a variety of restoration projects. It delivered but the stops were mostly at obscure little tributaries and were kind of underwhelming. But How can I complain about a 30-mile ramble through beautiful country on a warm summer day?

Number of…… on the Tour De Clack

Rivs… 1

Bridgestones… 1 (an XO-4… no picture)

Tall Bikes... 1 (also, no picture but it was painted green and was flying a shamrock flag)

2nd top tubes (aka "the undertube")… 1

People riding 23mm tires who started a conversation with me by complaining how rough the roads are… 1 (my response was diplomatic… something about not feeling the vibration is the payoff for pushing 40mm tires. )

People who asked me if my AHH was French… 1

Women who wrote down "Rivendell A. Homer Hilsen" because her husband is too tall for his current bike and she wants him to get a bike that actually fits a tall guy… 1

Pics tell the rest of the story.

Looks like a nice day for rolling around Clackamas County. The area around Eagle Fern Park and the community of George are nice places to roll around but farther out and so require add on miles if one is pedaling out from Portland.

Your Hilsen looks great with the Albatross bars.
