If you can get past this guy's attitude ("do your homework", twice no less),  this looks like a pretty decent deal on wheels.  Dyads/LX with Nifty Swifties, $200.  I'm not familiar with the maker.  I'd post this on the 650b list, but I don't seem to be able to post there.  (If this is by someone here, sorry about that.)  This is in the Washington DC area.  Steve

But it sounds like you can offer to buy them at a substantial discount if you know what you're looking at... So go crazy!!!

If someone with that attitude GAVE me a set of wheels, I would give them back. Bad bike karma.

I actually don't think his attitude is all that abrasive.  Sounds like someone that may frequently get the "I will give you $150" emails.

If he'd done HIS homework, he might know the difference between "break," and "brake."

I imagine selling a set of 650b's you'd get a lot of questions like "will these fit my..?", "are you sure that they are....?", "what brakes will....?", etc, etc, etc. I would not want to spend my time answering these types of questions-- do your own homework. I think his attitude is ok for CL though would not be for a more bike-centric forum. He's probably a great guy.

Cheers!

I'm so tempted to make some snide comment about Potomac, MD.  But then I know there are some nice people that live there, too.

Answering a few questions is NOT a chore-- answering 50+ questions from people who barely know what they are looking at is a chore-- sorry if you disagree. From my experience selling things on CL it can be overwhelming-- the questions, low offers, offers to trade, etc. I was simply commenting that I can see how someone who has had a few bad experiences selling things on CL might be a little harsh/ jaded. Clearly these are not the wheels for you!

Cheers!

Definitely. I've had morons ask if I could bring a bike I was selling
to their house to try out. Or the ones who say they can't show up to
see a bike until 1 am.
