Hi everyone,

Both my Twin Holla's, and my new Synergy rim have this problem where they make a noise at the rim seam when they spin past the brake pad while braking.

....ffft.....ffft......fffttt.....

Is this the norm for Velocity rims?

The Holla's are un-machined. The Synergy is machined.

Never had this before on my other-branded rims.

Not uncommon, the seam is usually not totally flat with the rest of the rim and even a fraction of a mm can make a sound. It went away on a previous wheelset after about 500 miles. I guess if you were so anal you could take a dremel and small wheel to smooth it off but it will work itself out over time.

Thanks for the info. If that's the way they are, it won't bother me as much.
I'll leave it alone.
