Wow, nice build. To think, the Bleriot was once for the budget minded.

To be sure, I'm not saying that as judgement towards you. Certainly not. My thoughts are more along the lines of how our currency's been debauched. Along with so much else.

Anyway, congrats & enjoy!

I've certainly been debauched.  How did you know?

I love that handlebar bag. Is that the tallest Berthoud?

Sure does look like the GB28.

One of the annotated flickr photos confirms that Steve Palinscar is absolutely correct.

Not really. It's around 10.5" x 6" x 9", more or less (just measured
mine). A Carradice Camper is /much/ larger.

Yep, GB-28, Berthoud's largest--but nicely not that large at all. And
yes, my Carradice saddlebag is much bigger.

Thanks for the kind words on The Bike folks.

Sorry if this is a double post, but I'm still learning how the Google Groups works.

Scott, that is a great bike.  As an owner of a Bob Brown bike I'm curious about how the Bleriot compares to the bike that Bob made for you.  I've got a go-fast bike that Bob made for me, but I'm looking for something now that can take wider tires, with the Sam H. being the bike that currently has my eye.

Thanks.

Sean-

Really, it's full-on Apples/Oranges.

My BBC was designed & built for a person who weighed 500 pounds, as
such--Stout is an understatement (and for great reasons, it simply had
to be).

The Bleriot, as well as its Engine (and my next Bob Brown Custom--he's
building me a new one currently), all feel-very much-like I would
imagine a jackrabbit feels once it gets loose from its trap.

The Bleriot feels connected & fast to me... but so did my custom when
I went from not moving at all to riding at 6mph, to being 460 pounds,
to riding at 9mph at 400, and so on.
It's all relative, is what I am saying.

I feel insanely fast these days after dropping 332 pounds--and on the
Bleriot, after a solid year and a half on a Surly Pugsley, I feel like
Mark Cavendish on an EPO bender.

But all things equal, I am slow.
