I ride clipless pedals. I haven't been doing a lot of riding this winter, aside from commuting, and I'm now stepping it up to longer rides. I've notices after about 30/40 miles the soles of my feet start hurting. This could be just that I'm not used to it or it could be that I'm not wearing the insoles I used to. My question is does anyone else wear specific insoles and what are they?

I use superfeet in my cycling shoes. They work great.  I have one pair of the ones that are heated and then molded to your foot that is the best.

Also Specialized sells their Body Geometry pads that can orient your foot better in your shoe. This may help also. Or you can buy their shoes which have  these features built in. I've been using their shoes for 10 years and they made a huge difference in foot and knee comfort.

That's why I stopped riding clipless - ankles hurt from too much time
in the same position.
Can't say I miss it.
Just put a new pair of Grip Kings on the Sam. Can't wait to try them
out tomorrow.

Thanks Michael. I was using Superfeet in my last pair of cycling shoes and I threw them out with the shoes. I think I'll pick up a pair and give it a shot.
