...my real first name, Michael.

Someone requested it to make it easier to adress each other. And I don't know why I shouldn't use me real name.

Join me if you'd like to use your real first name, and we can stop calling each other things like:

bagginshairyfeet125
rivendellian106
HunqaHunqaBurninPiller, etc...

..." Dear MycorkgripsTookashellacing" ...

Hey Michael. Welcome!  I changed to my real monniker a few years back.

I'm thinking the majority of us are old enough to remember all the dire threats of stalkers and identity theft should we put our name out on the WWW.  2 years into being me and so far so good.

Shirley you can't be serious! I am serious, and stop calling me Shirley.

I'm a fan of using at least partial real-life names and locations. Besides it being easier to relate to real names/locations, being stalked is nice for the ego.

I've been on this list since it's beginning.  I've been burned once and flamed once.  Not a bad record, so I feel a fair amount of trust.

Welcome, Michael, and I welcome your name change.  I must admit that I had a hard time with  your old name: pronunciation, let alone meaning. I used Steve A as mine on several forums years ago, but there's another Steve A on a blog that I read, and I'm much better-looking that him ; ).  I kind of like my current name, which incorporates my name and a favorite beverage.  Cheers, Steve

My parents are really strange.

OK, joking!  My real first name actually is William but nobody calls me William.  Everyone calls me Bill or Bubba (among other things).

I believe my full name comes out on my messages, tis no concern to me though. In my line of work I give my name out many times a day, hasnt led to anything interesting yet though, haha.

OK, un-cloaking, my real name is 'rasterdogs', I go by the pseudonym 'JimD'.

Hey All,
"Join me if you'd like to use your real first name, and we can stop calling each other things like"

I thought this was the plan the whole time.

On Classics Rendezvous listers are required to give full name, city, state and country.

I think that is rather too .... particular, but I do think it reasonable that, especially on a smallish, more intimate list like this, we know and adress each other by our real first names.

I'm afraid I don't even know what my name shows up as on my posts.  Pudge?  Anyway, real name is Tom Allingham, Wilmington, DE.  And not actually all that pudgy -- nickname a vestige of teen years.  A long time ago by now...

Welcome, Michael, good to meet you.

Keep in mind that there are a couple Michaels on the forum, and only one lungimsam. For some reason there are lots of Philips in biking forums, too, so I try to sign each message with my name and "biketinker" alias. I try to keep my Flickr name consistent with the forum, too, or at least make easy to make the connection between the me here and the me there.

I generally believe in using real names online, and I very much appreciate that the two guys with the same full name include their locations in their signatures.

I've been here a while and am pretty sure I show up as Robert Harrison, statrixbob, and generally just go by Bob (which I spell backwards).

There's also one Rob Harrison (no relation) on board here, so while some folks call me Rob face to face, Bob will do just fine here.

Aloha,

Bob
