I posted this on the Lifestyles list, because it is slightly off topic for this one.  I didn't get much response, so am reposting here:

I bought this rack two years ago and it is my first hitch rack.  I 
really like the easy on and off for the bikes, which my wife 
appreciates even more.  I like the safety, aero dynamics, & not having 
to think about pulling into the garage.  But. 

Getting the rack to slide on and off the hitch is a major problem.  I 
make sure to clean the connection whenever I use it, and often spry it 
with silicon.  Nothing makes it easy.  I've finally written to the 
mfg, but haven't heard back yet. 

Has anyone else encountered this problem, and have they found a 
solution.
