I really do hate to give money to Ebay for doing nothing but have not
had any solid offers here yet and need to make space in my small
apartment. I just know someone out there wants this beautiful frame.
Again Waterford built in 2011 52cm Bombadil
Frameset for sale. Bike has a custom paint job, Hunquapillar Grey with
cream accents, comes with dura-ace headset. Was bought new by fellow
list member in 2011 and riddent lightly so is really pretty new. Has
small scuff on seat tube decal and small mark where front deraileur
was, small scuff from some chain suck but no dents, dings or gouges.
Incredibly beautiful, needs a good home, priced to sell at $1,200
shipped but I am open to
offers. Email me with any questions. Link to Flikr page.

Had a solid offer but deal fell through so still for sale. Again, I hate to give any money to Ebay since they are a worthless middle man so can sell for $1,100 shipped. Sorry to be pestering with this one but it is all boxed up in my bed room and attracts many "comments" from my wife, haha. Thanks all.

Man, I would buy this in a heartbeat, but I fear it is just too small for my 79cm PBH. :(

I ride a 56 Bombadil just fine with my 88.5 PBH. Go for it!

I'm also a 79 PBH and the 52 cm Bombadil frame may be too large for me
rather than too small. I think I fit a 48 cm Bombadil rather than a
52, but I'm not sure. Maybe that's what you meant... I ride a 54 cm
AHH.

I went up to the 56cm and it is right there but feel better stretched out, and I dont use it for MTBing either. The specs on the website are for max tire size I believe so at 79pbh you would be right there on the 52, all depends on how you like a bike to fit I suppose.

If you used Fatty Rumpkins or the Schwalbe tires that are around 42mm you could be pretty good on that size frame. I have a 52 Bombadil and with a 83 PBH there is plenty of clearance with Rumpkins or Marathons. Plenty of clearance like over 2 inches. If you are not going to use it as a mountain bike but more as a rough-and-tumble touring bike or an around towner then it is a great frame to go a little big on. Beautiful paint and a great price.

Just taking a tip from Joe and have to say that even though this is a single TT the geometry is the same as the 52cm listed on the Rivendell geometry chart on the site. Sorry if I didnt make this clear. Thanks again all.

Peter;
I am very interested in the Bomba you have for sale!  Could you give me an idea of its geometry?  Most critically, wheel size, top tube length and standover height.  Thanks!  Looking forward to your response.

Rob,

The list emails are kinda strange today so I just got this. The geometry and measurements are the same as stated on the Rivbike website https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AjehUKAztnO8dEFRVEYxUWpxeXNPMHZMeDZINmNUMWc#gid=0.
Standover with Grand Bois Hetres is hair under 31.5 inches, takes 650b Tires. Let me know if you have any other questions. Thanks!

In the spirit of following up... After a cross country journey via UPS, this frame has been sitting in my basement for a couple weeks while Tommy rounded up parts. He doesn't quite have everything for the build yet but he came by yesterday to drop off what he does have. He wasn't planning to build anything but the lure of shiny bits, frame, and bike-stand in the same room was too much for him to bear.

The frame came with a front wheel. Somewhere along the parts gathering process I convinced Tommy that he should build his own rear wheel. I'm probably not the most qualified person to be giving wheel building instructions. Despite my limitations the wheel is coming together. It still needs a little fine tuning, but should be ready to roll in the next couple days.

Hey that bike looks familiar!  If I had a work area like yours Andy I would try to braze my own frames, haha. Tommy was an awesome guy to work with and wish him the best of luck building up the bike. Cant wait to see it get dirty, though!

Glad Tommy is being taken care of. He's precious cargo. California wants him back after Portland is down with it's load.

Hey, sorry for not getting back to you before. The bike has been sold to Tommy out on the west coast. Good luck with your search!
