I think responses to sellers should reasonably be directed to the seller, not back to the whole list. I do appreciate seeing items offered up for sale, and follow questions on suitability or fitment are often very educational, but do we all need to know that someone is simply interested buying them?

Point taken.  Apologies (as the latest offender) to all.

Every time I've made this mistake it's been accidental, because it's an easy mistake to make given that in many systems "reply" goes only to the OP while to send it to everyone you have to go out of your way and hit "reply all." On this list, "reply" goes to everyone, and while I've had years to adjust to that, I still sometimes reflexively make the accidental reply that goes to the whole list (subconsciously thinking that hitting the reply button will only go to the OP.) Because of this, I cut some slack to the people who reply on FS items to the whole list.

To be fair, in the new google groups interface the reply to author is
hard to find, especially on non computers (like my ipad or iphone) i
only get a single reply button, and then finding someones email
requires multiple clicks as well.

for that reason i just give people the benefit of the doubt.

If I were to post that in my opinion, people shouldn't make posts that tell people what kinds of posts they shouldn't post, would that internal contradiction cause the fabric of the space-time continuum to begin to unravel?  Yes?  In that case, I won't post such a post...

Good point. I shouldn't be such a cranky-pants hard-ass, eh? The root of the problem is obviously with Google's poor user interface... any decent email application should offer a "reply to sender" option, in addition to the default reply-to address. But it's REALLY hard to get Google to listen to feedback on their interface.
