So i sold my QB frame a while back and still have the cranks. I'm
thinking of maybe putting them on my Hilsen later this summer when I
swap out the cassette and chain. I'd probably keep the 40t ring and
chain guard but swap out the 32t for maybe a 28. According to Mark at
RBW, a double FD like the one i have on the bike now will work, I can
even keep the same BB, all of which makes for a fairly easy swap.
Curently my Hilsen has a 46/34 double which is okay but I feel with a
smaller big ring I'd get more use out of the higher gears.

On my Coho randonneur I'm running a Campy 50-40-28 with an 11-30 cassette. I can use the 40 for most all riding except steep hills. I've thought about switching it our for something like a 44-29 on a 94 bcd crankset. I think I'd probably use the 29 more than now as pushing that 44 up gradual climbs would put me in one of the larger cogs. It's a simple thing to try. If it doesn't work you can always go back.
