Well I'm considering taking the rear rack off for a bit and mounting a fender mounted light on the rear. Is there a way to attach it to the underside of the fender? Do most just zip it to the fender stays and then frame up to the light? This is part of some goofy plan to clean up the rear of the bike then go with a large berthold rando bag on the front with a marks rack. (if I can ever get over the cost of the dang bag)

While I'm asking.. anyone know another rando bag that is really really tall like bertholds at half the price.. :)

this one requires you to drill two holes into the fender:

Kelly,

just get the Berthoud. It will last you for years, and will cost you
pennies per ride. Anything you might find at half the price will not
last half as long, or work as well. I think this is definitely a penny
wise pound foolish situation. You might try to find a used on on the
ibob group, though. I found an Acorn Boxy Rando that way and saved
quite a bit.

Kelly,

I think you're asking about the wire for the rear. I ran mine along
the chainstay then up the fender stay. I've seen it also where you
run it under the BB, then on the inside lip of the fender (depending
on the fender you can wedge it in, or secure with some waterproof foil
tape).

I have the pixeo fender light, you do have to drill through the
fender, but it looks, sharp, good visibility, my only complaint (not
really a complaint but observation), is that since bumps out of the
fender, i tend to knock into things with it. but the light is sturdy,
even bumping into things it's held up.

I had never heard of waterproof foil tape.

Acorn Boxy didn't look tall enough on the 67 cm AHH I'm thinks even the berthold 270mm may be to short..I know go measure..can't till marks rack gets here.. Guessing it will end up just over 15 inches.

Thanks for the info

Kapton tape is also pretty bomber.

You could try calling Phil of Loyal Designs, and see if he could/would make you one that is at or above your 270mm height requirement.
