Hello all,

I am trying to figure out a basket mounting solution for a bike of mine.  Has anyone tried a Mark's rack attached to fork dropout eyelets?

The bike in question is a CB0 that I have been setting up for a short time.  I want to mount the Mark's with clamps to the top of my unicrown fork
and with the long stays the riv sells to the top eyelets on my fork.  Has anyone tried something like that?  Maybe mounted an MR with a
four point attachment to the threaded bosses on the Bomba fork crown plus the dropout eyelets?  My concern is that the long stays with bend easily or be in the way on the front of a bus rack.
I like the Mark's rack because it is short unlike the R14 which has a similar setup.

Thanks JL

I don't have a Mark's rack yet but I did recently acquire a nitto big front rack for the same bike - but the fit wont work.  It is up for sale.
Ask me off list about the big front rack.

Why do you want to attach them at the dropouts when you could clamp them in the middle of the fork anywhere you wish ?   That way they'd be out of the way on a bus rack.  The rack won't be any stronger attached to the dropouts as opposed to mid fork.

That's a good idea.  You might have to bend the lower stays to clear the canti studs.
I did this on a Sam with MR attached  on the brake hole diving board bracket and the mid stay eyelets.
It had interference at the brake pivots. I bent the stays a bit like this:
It worked out okay. I had to futz with the stradle wire length to clear the bracket but it was do-able. You wouldn't have this problem with top of the crown eyes on the Bomba most likely.  I imagine if you attach all the way down to the drop out eyelets you'd miss the pivots. IDK , looks like you would though.

Anything is possible if you have enough eyelets and a couple long struts!
