I think a Betty Foy with some Nitto bars and Rich built wheels would
have held up better.

THAT is one of the funniest vids... THANK YOU!!!

If Danny MacAskill were born in the 50s, this is how stunt riding
might have turned out...
Funny, but SO WRONG!!!

I'm presuming Danny Mac is a good guy, has seen this video and is
having a good laugh from it.

Mixties are the new fixies!

David:

No, Danny Mac is THE GUY... not of this earth, his skills are beyond
compare.... just search YouTube for his vids.

The funniest part is that this guy busts the frame in 2 on the very
first stunt... duh... (where MOST folks would have given up), only
THEN proceeds to keep this poor klunker on life support with a steel
tube and a welding torch so he can FLOG it mercilessly... There should
be a Geneva Convention to prevent this kind of cruelty.

I found this clip at All Hail The Black Market. It's pretty much the
best cycling blog around.

Oh yeah, I've seen all his vids... he's magical! I meant that I
presume he is a regular-sorta' nice guy that would dig seeing someone
do that on a mixte klunker, not a jaded super star entitled athlete
person-type of a guy.

Well, steel is real. Just beat it, heat it, weld it & bend it back
into shape. Presumably the rims made it all the way thru the video.

Good to hear after running my Ram head-on into a curb last night. I stared at it after getting home for about 15 minutes making sure I didn't buckle any tubes. So far no frame or fork damage that I can see. I'll venture to say these Rivendells are well made!

He could have parted that thing out and made at least a thousand bucks on eBay. People will pay ridiculous dough for that French crap!

So does the Riv "No Warranty Frame Warranty" cover stuff like this?
I'm guessing NOT.

Pretty sure it's a 650B bike.

Back in the early 70s when BMX was just starting, a friend had a bike
shop & sold a lot of Schwinn Stingrays. The kids were building their
own BMX courses in vacant lots and breaking frames. After a while,
Schwinn cancelled their "lifetime warranty" on the Stingray.

See the opening sequences of Bruce Brown's "On Any Sunday" for what
the kids were doing. Absolutely nothing like this guy was trying! No
surprise this clown trashed the bike.

The beauty of steel; bent your frame? BEND IT BACK! Then weld on an additional " top tube"!

"We don' need no stinkin" warranty!"
