Do y'all ride one bike a lot, then set it aside and ride another one
exclusively, or do y'all rotate consistently? I tend to do the former
and, recently, have been riding the six-months-neglected gofast Riv
and discovering again (and again and again) just how wonderful a
bicycle it is. I am not, repeat not, going to convert this into a
derailleur bike nor into a load carrying, light-be-systemed,
be-fendered bike, either -- it's just too perfect as it is. Thank God
for choices!

I used to think a 75" gear was too high for winds; in fact, I stuck a
17 t cog on the flip side as a bailout should the 15 become too small.
But perhaps it's technique, perhaps it's fitness, perhaps just
accomodation, but that 75" gear feels just right for a bike this light
and fast. Wind? Just get low in the hooks, elbows bent, and pedal
slower.

I am very, very fortunate to have two such wonderful Rivs to fill most
of my road needs: errands/commuting which makes up 75% of my riding,
and the light (17.75 lb sans bottle, pump and bag) gofast for when I
want to experience what a fast and light bike feels like.

I rotate among the ones that are working properly. And tinker incessantly with the rest.

During non winter months will mostly rotate. It also depends on what type of riding I might have planned.  One is hanging right now needing some parts swapped.  And starting next week, will probably just ride one for the next month or so.  But that is, if things go right (grin).

In winter it's often one bike until it needs serious maintenance, then switch to my other winter bike.  Assuming I have two bikes set up for winter.

i often ride 3 bikes on any given day - MTB, commuter and road bike.
i really like having bikes with a specific purpose and little overlap
- it ensures that they are ridden often and they never feel stale.
granted, having easy access to some nice trails makes the daily off-
road stuff possible.
