At one time I read an article by Grant called "The Wrong Bike and Rider" or something about how bikes changed in the last 60 years or so...the fixation on racing bikes more recently.  I can't remember if I saw it in one of the website blog/learn articles, a catalog, a Reader, or somewhere else.  I wanted to send it to my sister, but I can't find it on the website (or at least, I didn't do a good job of finding it).  Anyone remember it?

Cheers

You should email Grant. He's written many variations on this over the years, undoubtedly starting with RR-0. He'll know where to point you.

It's been awhile since I've read that article (or variations thereof). Interesting that it doesn't ring as true now as it did even five years ago. Of the newish bikes I see in my neighborhood now, most (anecdotally) are some kind of entry-level 'hybrid' (hate that term, but the bikes are what most cyclists should be riding) or Surly Cross-check/LHT, which embody many of the features advocated by Grant over the years. I credit Grant and some other influential bike people, as well as (maybe) a diminishing interest in wannabe racing post-Lance.
