No Rivs on the ride, as it happened, but I think the conditions were more than a little Riv-friendly. Pics for now, words when I get around to it.

You've got some stunningly beautiful shots there Jim!  Thanks for sharing.  Almost makes me want to move...almost...
What brand/model is that green bike?
cheers,

Thanks! The green bike is my Curt Goodrich custom (it used to be red), modeled on my former Atlantis, but with 26" wheels and a 1-1/8" threadless steerer, among other custom touches.

Nice post/pics ... fall color is still a ways off here in NYC ... just gorgeous. Jealous is the word that come to mind next.

Showing your pics to my wife has been the catalyst to deciding where we want to ride next fall. Just beautiful!

awesome trip, photos, and great roads.
I'd have to get in just a little fishing on that trip, though.

I knew that looked familiar!!  (It was a stunner with the weaved bar tape job, but it looks PERFECT as a camper/adventure bike in green...)

Awesome pictures, no words required...  I mean, bacon-wrapped dogs on a fire?  Come on... that's like... Fogettaboutit... (as we say in NJ)...

Really dig the fall colors and reflection shots. Reminds me that it's almost time to get the down comforter out of the closet. Thanks for sharing.

How were the water levels?  I mention in another thread I just got back from a quickie tour from LaCrosse down the Mississippi Minnesota/Iowa side then back east to Chicago through Wisconsin and Illinois.

Mississippi water levels were very low.  Some of the ponds in parks in Iowa County, Wi were completely dried up.  My last night in Chain O' Lakes State Park, the larger lakes still were naviagable, but mainly due to the Fox River dam down stream.  Even so the levels were as low as I ever remember them.

Water levels were low. We based out of my ladyfriend's cabin. On Memorial Day there were three good-sized fishing boats tied to the dock there. Now there's barely enough water to float a canoe at the dock. Desertification is well underway in the Upper Midwest!
