I already had a bike stand;  but when I saw the Minoura stand that RBW has, I noticed the seatpost grabber, and really liked it.  At that point, RBW said they couldn't get those, that they had a lot of requests for them but couldn't get those alone.  Then I tried contacting Minoura USA, and even Minoura in Japan, trying to get one, and it just wasn't possible, it seemed.  A year later, I'd try again, and come up empty again.

The other night, I spotted these, that they'd appeared on the RBW site.   Ordered mine right then.  Arrived last night.

Since they'd said that other folks had asked about them before, I thought I'd point out to the Bunch that they're available...

I have one and don't like it.  bike is always really wobbly when it's in the stand like that.

maybe i am missing something?

If I had to go to town wailin' on something, then no, I'd not use it; reason I like it is I don't have to clamp my bikes' top tubes into the bikestand's clamp (my seat posts don't stick out enough for the clamp to grab); this adapter can hold my bikes by the seat post for doing tweaks (brake adjustments, rack installation, fender install, shifter adjustments, etc).

Regarding my Ram, this isn't a deal, but one thing I have noticed for my Bomba, which is a heavier frame/fork that's also racked/fendered/bagged, my bike is heavy enough that it slowly slides down, until the upper of the grabber posts has the saddle resting on it... Therefore, I wouldn't want to leave a bike in the stand for an extended period; just stick it up there, adjust, then take it back down...

FWIW...

i wonder if it has something to do with bike size and weight.  I have 64cm sam and 62cm hunq, and both immediately slide down so that it seems like a. bike is totally unbalanced and might fall, and b. bike's weight is on saddle rails.

Hanging the bike on the saddle rails is always the way I've used that seatpost grabber.  For example, I will not use it if there is no saddle on the bike.  The upper bolt on the seatpost grabber kind of hits my B17s that leaves a little indent there, which I've chalked up to beausage.
