Was just at my local sporting goods store, checking out their bicycle stuff, and checked one of these helmets out.  I was amazed by how light and comfortable it was.  I mean, floored.  I think I may get one.

I have a nutcase and a pro-tec helmet, and both of them are like twice as heavy.

They have an annoying little visor thing that has been added (it's cloth) which you could just not use, but I think that i may get one of them for wearing around town.  It doesn't have holes all over it like Grant's prototype drawing of the perfect helmet, but it does have big vents on the top.  another thing I noticed is that the helmet looks like it's designed so that the straps would tear out of the helmet if the ear hole straps caught on anything.

Anyone else try one of these or check one out?

this is the helmet:

They do look nice, but more of a fall / winter helmet.  Doesn't look like something I would wear on a 90 degree day.

Actually, I bought one early in April and have been wearing it since
on daily commutes.
A thin cotton cycling cap fits nicely underneath (I prefer that to the
demi-brim the helmet comes with).
It's a much lower-profile helmet than most BMX-y "bucket" shaped
helmets, a much better-looking too.
In short, I like it a lot. Wore it today on an 80-degree day and had
no problems staying cool.
Worth the money.

I dunno, it seems like helmets just are not cool but you can keep cool in them in the summer hopefully, haha.  I have always worn one but never felt like any of them were cool looking. Its just something I strap on before I ride, I know Grant is somewhat controversial on this issue but I have worn them for every ride for 20 years and one time it defintely saved my life, cracked one in half coming down from High Point NJ going about 30 MPH. Long story short, nutcase in winter, doofy looking giro racing helment in summer since I am always so hot.
