Flat, flat, flat pretty much sums it up. The "old route" (Assateague
Century) goes to Assateague Island, so there's a climb up the bridge to
the island. The "new route" (Snow Hill century)doesn't, so presumably
it should have substantially less elevation change.
As you say, the whole DelMarVa peninsula is pretty flat, but DC
Randonneurs' "Flatbread 200km" route from Centreville to Slaughter Beach
http://ridewithgps.com/trips/5466 has 1712 feet of climbing in 128 mi,
while my Easton/Oxford/Tilghman Island Permanent Poppulaire at 86 miles
has only 700 feet of climbing.
