The format should be the same, but it's not. It may take some time.

RPP can not open this. The X-E1 camera is basically identical to X-Pro1, with the exception of a viewfinder, so the RAF format should be the same...

I would appreciate if you could look into this problem. I am on OSX 10.7.5 and using RPP 4.7.0 (64-bit). Here's a link to one of the RAF's from the camera .

I don't give ETAs. The beta is as good as it gets though and can be used without any limitations.

Hi RPP,

May I ask if there is a schedule for official release of X-E1 support in next build?

Joostein,

This is the way interpolation algorithm renders image captured by the camera. This is an unusual sensor and it has unusual artifacts.
There is no good way to deal with them - we either get washed out overprocessed  image (like from camera jpeg, LR, SilkyPix), or we get details mixed with artifacts like those zippers.
However I wouldn't worry about them unless they show up on final prints or web images. Usually they don't. You may need to be more careful with blanket sharpening though - selective approach will work better for this camera.

Andrey

I have a question regarding the X-E1 and RPP. I was not comfortable with the SilkyPix user interface so I downloaded RPP a couple of days ago. My experience with RPP is limited and I have not yet read the manual to get a grip on the program, but I read a “quick start” guide I found on the web.

On my first picture developed with RPP I noticed both some colour artefacts and some zipper-effects in 100% view and I am wondering if this is to be expected or if it might be something specific to my picture or the settings I use in RPP.

To illustrate this I took a screenshot of RPP in 100% view with some of the problematic areas visible. This way you can both see the artefacts and the settings used for RPP. The artefacts appear both with jpeg and tiff output, and they are not present on the out of camera jpeg (I’m shooting raw+jpeg).

I'm using RPP 64 4.0.7 (1619)
