Hi guys,

We're trying to get an instance of refinery running with an instance
of spree. I know this has been talked about a lot on the internet but
there aren't any good explanations of how to solve this. We've used
the name spacing branch of Spree and the new Rails 3.1 version of
Refinery.

We've got the two partially running with Spree mounted inside
Refinery, the issue seems to be devise. I'm just wondering if anyone
has got these two working properly together and how you approached it?

Cheers,
Jack

Hi Jack,

It just so happens that I'm the Community Manager for Spree and that I'm on this mailing list.

Just to clarify, are you using the master branch of spree with the namespacing or the branch called "namespace"? The latter is outdated, and development on that has moved to master. We should probably delete the namespace branch then :)

I think the issue would probably indeed be Devise because both Spree and Refinery have differing opinions on how user authentication is supposed to work.

Perhaps you, Phil Arndt of Refinery and I can get together to discuss this at some point? What city are you based in?

Thanks!

Hi Jack,

I've got a site running like this, and I've been really meaning to share the compatibility code. I'll try and get to it today and post it on github.

It's reasonably achievable (though I haven't integrated the authentications).

Cheers,

Michael

Hi Michael,

I'm very interested in your thoughts on this. We're about to start down this path, and I'd be very grateful if you could share your experience from doing it.

Cheers,

Simon
