Would be keen to do a lightning talk on a gem I've been hacking on to handle gradually expiring aggregate data in redis https://github.com/madlep/fresh_redis

Cheers

I (for one) wouldn't mind a sales pitch on crashlog instead, and why I should use it vs ratchet/exceptional/bugsnag/airbrake.

As a Taswegian I generally can't make these events, however I have been reading on IPC lately so I am rather interested in Florian's talk, Florian will there be slides, video or some such viewable somewhere after the event?

I'm afraid I can't make it this Thursday.  Various things have come up which mean that not only won't I be able to attend, I haven't had the time to finish my presentation either :-(

Next time though ... & my apologies for the short notice.

Hello fine people!

We've had enough changes to the program that it's probably a good time for an updated invite! We have updated speakers, and more!

The next Melbourne meet-up is at 6pm, this Thursday 25th Oct, as usual at Inspire9.

Speakers:

* Zeus – Ben Hoskings
* Interprocess Communication – Florian Hanke
* Turbolinks and Other Rails 4 Stuff You Can Use Now – Gareth Townsend
* Fresh Redis – Julian Doherty
* Crashlog – Ivan Vanderbyl

In addition to the updated speaker list, we have some great news for those unable to attend: The talks will be recorded, and on video no less! OrionVM has generously offered to sponsor and support regular recordings of each meet-up, including filming, production and editing.

Look forward to seeing everyone there!

Hey everyone!

Some of you probably know me from my sporadic appearances around the RoRo pizza table - particularly at Inspire9 where I used to run the events etc.

Just re-introducing myself for anyone who doesn't know me, as I'll be the one recording the presentations on video, editing them together with some screencasting and getting them online for all you fine Rubyists to access from wherever.

I'll get in touch with the individual speakers for this week's meetup to chat about recording your screens to capture slides, etc.

And everyone else, seeya on Thursday! Any questions, lols, etc, feel free to email me: kea...@elevenandtwelve.com or tweet me @kealey.

Hi Justin, hi Tommy,

Sadly, I am not well enough today to make it to the meetup – so I have to cancel my talk :( I am very sorry about that.
I am very happy to talk on the next meetup though, since I'd love to speak about the topic.

Cheers,
   Florian

No problem, we have a backup plan involving Mario Visic, will add you to the list for next month!

Hi Tommy,

If you're interested to play with it, I can recommend you the "cod" Ruby gem, see examples here: http://kschiess.github.com/cod/tutorial/pipes.html#a3

Cheers,
   Florian
