Hi ROROers,
A quick reminder that tomorrow (Tuesday 13 September) is RORO meetup time in Sydney again at the usual place, upstairs at http://www.trinitybar.com.au/ in Surry Hills
Please put yourself down for talks at the wiki: https://github.com/rails-oceania/roro/wiki
The agenda is filling up nicely, but there's still plenty room for more — if you have something to present to the group, that would be great.
So far we have:
One presentation:
Three lightning talks:
New Tips, Tricks and Traps
I am also suggesting a new section of talks: Tips, Tricks and Traps
The idea is that you come up and talk for a minute or so about a tip, trick or trap you have found, or something that you do (or avoid doing) that might be useful to the community. Usually no prep or slides needed, just something you would like to share.
It could be a book, podcast, coding trick, keyboard shortcut, gem, or anything else... If you ever listen to the Ruby Rogues Podcast (http://rubyrogues.com/), they always have a "picks" section at the end of the podcast, which is the same idea.
I will also be talking about a new initiative to complement the awesome community: The RORO podcast.
Also a big congratulations to an esteemed ROROsydder, Ryan Bigg. His book Rails 3 in Action will be ready for retail sale this week. Well done!
Looking forward to the meetup.
See you there.
Steve

RoRo Sydney usually "finishes" officially around 9pmish.... people tend to leave from about 9:30pm onwards with people chatting and talking past 11.
