Hey all,

Full details of the Melbourne meet-up this Thursday 31st will go out soon, but I wanted to remind everyone to prepare your lightning talk!

The loose theme is "Things I wish I had known" — you've learned some stuff over the years, probably the hard way, now is your chance to save others in the community some pain. 1–5 minutes, that's all.

If you can do it without slides, awesome, you win the internet. If you need slides, BYO device or email them to me in advance.

Here's the roll call so far:

* Chris Berkhout
* Nicholas faiz
* Gareth Townsend
* James Healy
* Chendo
* Julian Doherty
* Tobias Cohen
* David Goodlad
* Ryan Allen
* Mark Turnley
* me

There's heaps of regular attendee's names missing. You know who you are, we are judging you :)

All are welcome, please join in. There's also a longer talk planned from Michael Pearson, probably room for another if you're keen.

Justin

I wouldn't ever dare to judge Pete Yandell, or the startup hipsters John Barton and Glen Maddern.

I could't possibly bring myself to judge the members of the TC team, Josh Bassett and Ben Hoskings who are absent from the list either.

I haven't seen Marcus Crafter for a while, but I think he knows a thing or two about the rubies.

Lincoln Stoll probably isn't even in the country, but I'm pretty sure Ben Schwartz is, and as he's been published in Smashing Magazine I would never judge him.

Cheers,
Gareth Townsend

Okay - just so we don't repeat talks, I think I'll probably talk about External Enumerators in Ruby 1.9.

Is there anyone who could record these talks? I really want to be there but work has put me in Sydney all week.

Seeing that Im currently laid up with a cold, mine might have to be canceled. If I do get better quickly I was planning on switching my talk to something mainly about the ruby debugger gem.

Hi,

How about those full details, then? :)

Assuming Inspire 9 & 6:30pm as per usual?
