Dear RabbitMQ community,

RabbitMQ core team is adopting a support policy for Java libraries.
This policy formalizes the support timeline and the JDK versions
supported by the Java libraries maintained by the team, it does not
change fundamentally what support for these libraries has been so far.

This support policy is fully described on the website [1].

The main takeaway is Java 6 and 7 support will be dropped by the end
of this year. This affects only Java client 4.x and JMS client 1.x. We
strongly advise those using these 2 branches of the libraries to
consider a migration plan to Java client 5.x and JMS client 2.x,
respectively. There is no rush though: both branches will still be
maintained for 6 months, before only security patches will be applied
until the end of the year, when they will reach end of life. See the
support timeline [1] for more details.

Thank you for reading this far. If you have any questions, please ask
them in this thread.

It's glad to see RMQ gets a lot of improvement in this new year :)
