build it myself, main purpose is gaming (actually dualbooting Win7 to do it) and general purpose.

Qubes release 2 (R2)

Chipset:    00:00.0 Host bridge [0600]: Intel Corporation Xeon E3-1200 v2/3rd Gen Core processor DRAM Controller [8086:0150] (rev 09)
VGA:        01:00.0 VGA compatible controller [0300]: NVIDIA Corporation GK104 [GeForce GTX 680] [10de:1180] (rev a1)
CPU:        Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-3770 CPU @ 3.40GHz
BIOS:        P1.40
VT-x:        Active
VT-d:        Active

Worked all hardware with no additional configuration needed (besides spanish keyboard layout and other obvious things)

Cany you please provide the correct model number of your mainboard?
As you can see it is not set corretly by the factory...

Which module are you using for your VGA?

i915 : Motherboard integrated VGA
nouveau: Geforce GTX 680
