Dear all,

(According to https://www.qubes-os.org/doc/reporting-bugs/ and https://www.qubes-os.org/mailing-lists/, this mailing list seemed to be the suitable place for this specific bug report.)

I've tried to subscribe to all qubes-xyz mailing lists earlier today, but did not manage to receive a confirmation for "qubes-devel".

Using the browser based forum UI (https://groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/qubes-devel), non-subscribers are currently greeted with a "Banned Content Warning" which states that posts can only be accessed in read-only mode by subscribers; there is no button which allows you to subscribe. ("Group owners can request an appeal after they have taken steps to clean up potentially offensive content in the forum.")

If you send an empty mail to <qubes-deve...@googlegroups.com> in order to subscribe (which works for all other mailing lists), this is what you get from <mailer...@google.com>: "We're writing to let you know that the group you tried to contact (qubes-devel) may not exist, or you may not have permission to post messages to the group. [...]"

In other words, the only way to access/subscribe to qubes-devel atm is via Gmane...

Kind regards, Markus

Thanks for raising this to our attention Markus. Marek is the list owner
and will go through the appeal process, hopefully it will be resolved
shortly.

That also happens if you write a normal message to qubes-devel@. The last
message was posted two days ago.

No, Joanna is the owner, Marek is manager, which means he cannot "appeal" in
the google sense. Also, Joanna is needed should the "appeal" process required
brewing a sh*tstorm on Twitter.

just a note that Joanna is on holiday right now, who Wojtek corrected me
is the official owner of the list and the only person who can appeal
through Google's process. Hopefully she'll be back online soon, I
imagine that's the first path to take and if that doesn't work then we
can do a twitter storm.

Update: The above has been resolved (read: tested both browser based UI and subscription via empty e-mail and both works for me again).
