I've just fitted the front seats from a Rover 220 Turbo to our 2+2.
The whole interior only cost £50 (although I'm not sure what I'm going
to do with the door cards and rear seat). The seats have lumbar
support adjustment on both, and the drivers seat is height adjustable
too.
To fit them I had to remove the Rover brackets from the runners and
also the seat belt pretensioner system. This involves drilling out
about 12 rivets on each seat so you'll need a selection of good sharp
drill bits. The original Rover runners have been used, mounted to the
legs of the universal subframe kit that was already in the car.
A picture of the finished result can be seen here:

Been wondering if there were any seats that would fit - my wife has a
permanent back injury which means she always has her seat almost
horizontal - a seat with a little lumbar support should help.
What is the universal subframe kit you mention?

Scrapyard visit due in the near future I think.
Although I think my scrappy is getting a bit cheeky with his prices
lately - I doubt I'd get an interior for £50 any more.

Next time I'm at the scrappy I'll keep my eyes peels for a suitable Rover ;)

If you happen to be lucky like I was you may even come across FULL leather versions.
I think they were an option or were fitted to the 'Tomcat ?' Rover 220.

I had a set of these in a lighter grey fitted to my Capri. These were superior to the standard Capri leather very supportive and the now wife liked the seats. (but not the car)
Some extensive mods had been done. 9 I would keep the rear seat material in case of damage to the fronts. (Fabric spares on older cars is hard to come by)
Keep an eye out for metro GTa top spec 200’s the T-bar one cant remember the number. The lumbar support is definitely worth having. The seats were firm but not hard.
Happy hunting
Gary
P.S The ford focus MK1 leather seats looked cool in the scrappy don’t know if they would fit direct? (millennium edition)

Chaps I have suddenly realized why wives don't like our cars,
its because we treat them as feminine, maybe we should
consider our cars masculine.
The question is though do girls consider cars feminine or
masculine?
