Friends,

To get right to the point, I'm writing to let you know that Pushy will be transferring ownership from Turo as a company to me personally in the near future. Package names, some URLs, and Maven coordinates will change, but everything else should remain the same (although I hope to be more active on the project than I have been in recent months!).

As you may know, I've been the main contributor to Pushy since its inception. Pushy started as an internal project at Turo (then called RelayRides), and then turned into an open-source project with Turo's sponsorship and support. As of January 1, 2020, I am no longer an employee of Turo. As part of my departure, we discussed several options for continuing Pushy's development. After weighing a number of factors including accrued knowledge institutional priorities, we agreed that the best thing for the company and for the Pushy community would be to transfer ownership of the project to me directly.

Soon, we'll actually move Pushy out of the Turo organization and over to my own GitHub account. When that happens, GitHub will automatically redirect links to issues, pull requests, and wiki pages. Unfortunately, it will NOT redirect links to https://relayrides.github.io/pushy/, which hosts the Pushy API docs. I'm exploring options to minimize the impact of that change and will post an update shortly.

I'll also post an update soon with more specifics on the timing of the move. In the meantime, please use this thread to for any questions or concerns you may have. I'm looking forward to continuing to work on Pushy.

Cheers, and thank you for your continued trust and support!

(also on the to-do list: making my personal account an administrator for this mailing list!)

To minimize the impact of the change away from relayrides.github.io, I've registered pushy-apns.org. Now all traffic to relayrides.github.io/pushy is getting redirected to pushy-apns.org; I think that should create an effective abstraction layer. Some old bookmarks will likely still break, but I think this will keep breakage to a minimum.

Wiill the maven and package name change affect past releases or will those still be available through maven?

No; previous releases will be unaffected. New releases will appear under a new group identifier.

Friends,

I've transferred ownership of Pushy and Pushy Console. They are now at https://github.com/jchambers/pushy/ and https://github.com/jchambers/pushy-console/ respectively. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns!
