Graduation Thesis - Algorithm of translation for TH & APIs

Dear Conf. Univ. Dr. Luminița Iliuță and Asist. Univ. Dr. Marius Rac-Albu,

I wanted to present my work up until this moment. I hope I will have a first draft of the entire paper by the end of the month. At this point I still have to add information to the general part and the work is not yet formatted correctly. The special part is not yet finished - I need to gather more “in use” translations from other sources than the histology atlas by Junqueira and after that I will be able to make the computability comparisons between versions.

I also have a few questions:

(due to the scarcity of information about Romanian projects:)

1. Do you know about any semantic bioinformatics projects in Romania?

2. Do you know about any Semantic Web/ontologies projects in medicine, in Romania?

3. Do you know of any attempts to translate Terminologia Histologica in Romanian started recently?

(about the rules for writing the paper:)

4. Are there any requirements or examples for writing the paper other than those published on the university’s site? (http://www.umfcaroldavila.ro/index.php/licenta/organizarea-concursului-de-licenta/regulamentul-examenului-de-licenta)

Please give an estimate of the time you are spending on this subject (reading, replying etc.) for the collaboration statistics.

1.I, and strictly speaking personally here, still living in Romania, the country where the official language is Romanian. So I prefer to talk in Romanian.

In an initial email to Assoc. Prof. Dr.Luminita  Iliuta I have explained the reasons for using English as one of the languages - primarily for assuring international transparency. My approach will also be mentioned and explained in the paper. It is not a problem if you prefer to write in Romanian, however, I will have to always attach an automated translation by Google to the text (because it is too time consuming to translate the text myself).

I hoped to finish a draft of the paper by now, but I have a little more to work on the R code and with the term translations (I am taking advantage of the last days when the UMF library is open to translate the TH terms - not only those 500 used in the thesis). To be sure, my deadline for the final draft of the paper is 31st of July, with possibility for later improvement. If I finish earlier, I will announce this. After that, I will start working on the presentation and resume (deadline 20th of August).

This delay is due to the fact that I had to rebuild almost all of the R code for the paper and to add even more functionality to it. This can be easily tracked by reviewing the GitHub repository. The data used in the paper comes directly from the code - even the graphs and tables - and that is why the visual data will be presented in the next three days (deadline set for the 6th of August). However, I am writing summaries of the data where the graphs should be, for an initial understanding. The draft is not formatted appropriately yet and I plan on restructuring the information for more fluency. Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

As I said, at the moment I still have the visual part of the paper under construction, along with some data from the second part of the paper (the comparisons between translations) which will be primarily presented in a visual way. The deadline for this part remains the 6th of August and I am sorry for the delay.

The deadline for the final adjustments of the paper and the presentation draft remains the 20th of August.

Any comments and suggestions regarding the paper can be done directly inside the document by changing the Mode from Editing to Suggesting (upper right corner of the document) or by right click and Suggest Edits.

I have already stated in the previous discussions that I want a fully transparent thesis and that this cannot be done by telephone. However, at the moment I do not even have a functional telephone device and I keep all discussions on the Internet.
