About technology revolutionising transport beyond Uber. Of course, it
also says "More important is the determination of the municipal and
national governments. Indeed, without city authorities’ active
encouragement mobility as a service will not take off"

Ashok,

Actually, the good old public railway network or buses/trams, are itself a form of, mobility-as-a-service (as we do not own vehicles), except the service can't be booked from point-to-point across services, necessarily and not via smartphone. That is just a technological limitation. I recall reading a news in Mumbai, last month that BEST is planning to pilot 20 seater feeder routes, where seats can be booked using smartphones....

best regards,

Anil
