Webcam Returning Message Saying "Cyberlink YouCam 3 Please start your cam"

The webcam is returning a message saying "Cyberlink YouCam 3 Please
start your cam", I have marked webcam "on". Any advice how I can get
this to generate a picture?

I think it came down to uninstalling the youcam software but I could be wrong.

It looks as though this is the suggestion.  I am reluctant to uninstall software on a new laptop.  Does anyone know of any other way around this?  If youcam is free software, then I could perhaps delete it and re-download it.  Not sure how it will take photos if I've uninstalled the webcam software.  Anyone got any further suggestions??
