Public Lab Community Newsletter March 24, 2014

Happy Monday, everyone! Read on for coverage on open data and citizen science by two Public Lab co-founders, as well as other updates from the community.

Announcements

Do you use Public Lab software tools? We have been accepted as a mentor organization for Google Summer of Code 2014, and will work with students over the summer to improve them. Check out the students’ proposals and provide feedback to help us formulate great projects for this summer! http://publiclab.org/tag/gsoc

We’d like to welcome new member, Sean McGinnis, to the Organizers group. We’re excited to have New Jersey representation again. Want to learn more about what the Organizers do and learn how to become one yourself? Check out the Organizers page for more information.

We also encourage you to check out this great coverage on open data over at the Wilson Lab Blog from our very own Jeff Warren and an interesting podcast on citizen science from Public Lab co-founder Sara Wylie

Upcoming Events:

EcoHack is happening May 9-10 with hackathons in New York City, San Francisco, and São Paulo, Brazil. Read on for more information on getting involved.
