Not sure I am correct in my observation but need answer if someone knows
I am doing experiments in schools
I measure temperature in three glass jars black white red
The black gets very how when I touch it (obvious)
The while is cooler
The red is somewhere in between
But the tools I use to measure show the red hotter
It is not scientific measurement very cheap devices, but even though it happen more than once even if I switch devices (in case one is faulty)
Any clue?

The next variable I would check is the placement of the probes (thermistors?) inside the jars. There will be strong temperature gradients inside the jars as they heat up.

I am catching up on emails so I apologize for the late response. I
notice in the picture that the black jar is shaded by the white jar.
That may be enough to cause some issues. How are the colored jars
constructed? That might have some effect. You could measure the
outside of the jars by tapeing the sensor to the jars. Measure the
temperatures with an infrared thermometer and see how different that
measurement is from other measurement.

It appears to me that you have an interesting experiment that should be
written as a research note. You don't have to have any rigorous
research notes to do that, just what and how you did it. That way you
can get some feedback and document your project in a manner that is
easier to access in the future by a larger audience.
