2017 All Hands Update - Data & Monitoring

It's not too late to reserve a space at the 2017 Tools Café!
If you are planning to attend the 2017 Gulf Summit and/or Gulf of Mexico Alliance All Hands Meeting and want to showcase something your organization has to offer (old or new), please consider reserving a space now. If you are already registered, there are no Tools Café registration fees. Back by popular demand, this reception is coordinated by our Data and Monitoring Team.

Being held Tuesday evening, March 28th, the Café is a wonderful opportunity for partners to share their online or paper-based tool(s). Conveniently intermixed with the Gulf of Mexico Alliance reception, the Tools Cafe' is a lively forum to interact with One Gulf Summit and All Hands attendees. The 2016 event participants demonstrated tools on issues such as coastal flooding, harmful algal blooms, ecosystem mapping, and much more.

If you're a data geek, you'll want to join the Alliance's Data and Monitoring Team. This group was an outgrowth of the former Ecosystem Integration and Assessment Team. The new Team is addressing improved decision making for monitoring, mapping and data sharing; and, enabling data and monitoring integration across the Alliance.

This year the Team's breakout session will focus on updating their working groups: data framework, community of practice, and Gulf of Mexico master mapping. They will cover specific actions related to the Governors' Action Plan III; ways to integrate across all the Alliance; and developing their Gulf Star request for proposals. Most of the work will build upon potential projects developed over the previous year.

The call for Tools Café demonstrations is still open. Submissions are due to Dave Reed by Friday, March 10, 2017, Dave...@MyFwc.com. For more information, download the submission form. Read more about the Data and Monitoring Team on our website
