Being held Tuesday evening, March 28th, the Café is a wonderful opportunity for partners to share their online or paper-based tool(s). Conveniently intermixed with the Gulf of Mexico Alliance reception, the Tools Cafe' is a lively forum to interact with One Gulf Summit and All Hands attendees. The 2016 event participants demonstrated tools on issues such as coastal flooding, harmful algal blooms, ecosystem mapping, and much more.
If you're a data geek, you'll want to join the Alliance's Data and Monitoring Team. This group was an outgrowth of the former Ecosystem Integration and Assessment Team. The new Team is addressing improved decision making for monitoring, mapping and data sharing; and, enabling data and monitoring integration across the Alliance.
This year the Team's breakout session will focus on updating their working groups: data framework, community of practice, and Gulf of Mexico master mapping. They will cover specific actions related to the Governors' Action Plan III; ways to integrate across all the Alliance; and developing their Gulf Star request for proposals. Most of the work will build upon potential projects developed over the previous year.
