Good Morning, everyone!
What a pleasure it was to see many of you at Gulf
Gathering.
I wanted to touch base with you all
about a touring project that Karen Savage and I have been working on for this
summer.
"We
know how hard individuals and community organizations are working; as well as,
how few resources they have. So while we are there, we plan to make ourselves
useful - stuffing envelopes, making phone calls, manning a booth, participating
in an action, whatever needs to be done - we're ready to jump in and get to
really know folks and the struggle we share." - Karen Savage
The Life Support
Project can be broken down into 2 goals:
"Number one,
is to explore, build and expand upon the definition of what real, on-the-ground,
support and resource sharing looks like to EJ/ Frontline communities who
are dealing with extreme extraction issues. The second, is to lift up those who
are working to protect life in these areas, in their own voice. We will be
connecting folks to each other and to various forms of media through video, art
and written word. This is at root a story telling intiative that goes far beyond
a simple one time approach. We want to celebrate your wins, mourn with you your
losses, and lift you and your organization up to the rest of the world."
- Cherri Foytlin
This is an invite
for you and your community to be a part of this exciting journey.
We are scheduling for
this project NOW. Please respond to myself or Karen ASAP if you are
interested.
In solidarity,
Cherri Foytlin and Karen
Savage
