Hi, all - I'll be participating in an open webinar tomorrow on the subject of community science -- hosted by MIT's ClimateX -- hope to see some of you there!

Summary: Many are familiar with the Citizen Science movement: people helping out on research projects -- crowdsourced bird counts, water tests, protein folding. But what about Community Science? How is it different? Community science is about a dialogue between communities in need, formal scientists, and governmental agencies and other important constituencies. In this talk, we'll discuss the challenges and some of Public Lab's work to scaffold a more collaborative form of knowledge production that addresses real-world problems and inequities.
