Hi all,
Just wanted to send out a thank you to everyone who came to Appalachia Barnraising and short reminder that this group is open and has everyone on it. So let's keep in touch! Happy to report the DC and the NYC bound groups all made it safe and sound.

Looking forward to hearing from you on Public Lab and hopefully seeing you at the next Barnraising!!

Best,
-Stevie

Thanks, everyone for the great work at the Barnraising.  I'm sorry to have had to miss Sunday.  I bet the conversations continued to be great.  Something folks may want to check out...A documentary called From the Ashes aired last night on the National Geographic channel.  I didn't get to see the whole things, but a few segments that I saw focused on the "jobs vs. environment" issues, especially in WV, that some of us talked about in the last session on Saturday afternoon.  You might want to take a look.

Best,

Jill

Hi All -
Thanks again for a wonderful weekend. As always, the Barnraising fostered all sorts of helpful ideas, connections, friendships and ideas for collaboration.

Jill, funny that you mention "From the Ashes" - the AMP project became aware on Friday that this film had used a bunch of our  drone footage without permission, credit or compensation. Radical Media, the producers of the film, visited Coal River Mountain Watch,  interviewed Junior (but didn't include his interview in the final cut). Unfortunately, Radical Media never disclosed the fact that they were sponsored by Sierra Club - an organization that we would never collaborate with.

If anyone wants to check out the film, we have the link to the online screener: https://clients.radicalmedia.com/Review/128606/219382#!/1088282       Password: fta502

Wow Laura, i hope you get in touch with Radical Media about some compensation + credit for the hard-won footage you guys created at great effort and risk. Let us know if there's anything we can do.

North Carolina carpool made it home in good order too! (Liz + Gretchen)
So amazing to meet everyone -- looking forward to seeing you on an open call soon! (Tuesdays 3pm ET / 2pm Central Time). Visit the events Calendar: https://publiclab.org/events

I also want to extend a big thank you to all the Barnraisers for making our time together so meaningful!

Yours,
Liz
