Does anybody experience errors while redeploying apps on Phusion Passenger open source?

We've received a report from a user who claims that he's getting aborted connections upon redeploying his applications on the open source version of Phusion Passenger. This should not happen: it's supposed to block requests until one process has restarted, after which it resumes all blocked requests, and it's also supposed to finish existing requests. Has anybody ever experienced aborted connections upon redeploy?
