Q:

Is WebViewer accessible and ADA (American disability Act) complaint?

---------

A:

Re: ADA compliance, the WebViewer SDK is fully compatible and can be used to build alternate document presentation for accessibility support. For example, a user could use native browser controls to adjust the font size, color, or could invoke ‘text to speech’ and other accessibility features.

As a starting point please take a look at “Accessible Viewer Demo” that comes as part of WebVewer SDK:

So depending on user preferences you could load alternate viewer to present content in more accessible format. This is similar to the way default reader works of desktop vs mobile. There are actually two viewers, each specialized to work best on a given platform. Depending on whether the user is accessing document from a mobile device or a desktop system a different viewer will be loaded. For users with special needs, there would be another ‘portal’ to the content (i.e. the accessible reader).

Regarding Unicode support all XOD files always include text that is mapped to Unicode.
