For a few months my overall (user) stats show three photos are not approved for Google Earth -- 43267 photos, 43264 on Google Maps. However, I am reasonably sure that all of my photos are approved.

Is it possible that Google would "un-approve" some of my approved photos without notifying me? Otherwise, I suspect there is a problem with the stats themselves.

There are, indeed, random quality checks. As a consequence, sometimes approved photos get deselected.
You can use p-track in order to find which are those photos.

p-track indicates I have no deselected photos and shows stats that don't agree with Panoramio's:

Is there something I need to do to get this issue resolved?

Please quote the three photos which seem to have been deselected (you will have to check one by one), and moderators can draw the attention of someone form the Team.

None of my photos seem to be deselected; it's the stats that are incorrect. Please see the images in my second post in this thread.

Nice to see that p-track is more accurate than the Panoramio statistics ;-)

Bryan

I pointed out this thread to a Team member. He would probably give you an answer here.

By the way, there is nothing you can actually do. It is up to them to pinpoint the issue and try to fix it.

Thank you, Draken. I look forward to a further reply. I want to upload my photos from the last few weeks but I was waiting until this problem is recognized so that the discrepancy can be clearly seen.

Draken, thanks for escalating.
Bryan, we'll do some digging and try to figure out what's causing the discrepancy.

Two weeks have passed, I have uploaded many more photos, there's no word from Panoramio, but this problem still persists. :-(

Maybe this additional info will help in fixing this bug.

Last week, I had 45041 photos. All of them were selected for Google Earth, and p-track confirmed this. But Panoramio showed 45038 on Google Maps, three fewer than the correct number.

Next, I deleted one photo, and Panoramio then reduced the number of selected photos by two! So now it shows four fewer than the correct number.

See the attached screen shots.

Thanks in advance for solving this problem.

Since my last message I uploaded many new images and didn't delete anything else. And now my On Google Maps total has gone down by one.

I now have 45748 photos. All of them are selected for Google Maps and Google Earth. This has been verified by two separate, independent programs.

But Panoramio shows I have only 45742 selected. That's six fewer than the correct number. The problem is getting worse.

My displayed number of photos on Google Maps has now gone down one more, to 45741.

How can these stats not only be wrong but keep changing as well????

What is the status of fixing this bug?

It is an acknowledged defect. It was first reported in February. It was "escalated".  Adam Lasnik promised some followup.

And it continues to worsen. My stats are now off by 8.

I have taken great care to ensure that 100% of my photos are selected. I always delete those that are rejected. So I think it's fair to want my stats to reflect this.

Thanks.

Sorry for the delayed reply and apologies that we've not been able to discern anything further.  We do expect to have more robust stats in mid-to-long-term.

Thank you Draken, for locking my thread, which indeed you are correct. This thread has drawn more attention than mine, yet started over 2 months prior to mine and only involved 4 different members.

We "were" having a healthy discussion which was in my view helping build the community spirit and in a good light hearted mood, having a bit of a joke about the current issue of pictures being delayed in appearing on GE. Quite a few people were contributing and different angles on the problem were being shared.

You have redirected the members to a thread which you constructively last made comment on "Sorry bryanf, I have ran out of replies.", thus ending the discussion, to which you are now directing people to ,

My head is in knots. Can we ( the users ) make constructive criticism without threads being locked and redirected to threads which Admins have ran out of replies???

Many Thanks!!!

Be careful about your tone, there are rules in this forum.

First of all, I am not part of the Adminis. Please learn the difference if you want to be accurate.

Secondly, the discussion is far from ended since Adam Lasnik (he is Community Manager and Program Manager) is participating. Feel free to contribute.

Thirdly, in "your" thread two things happened: 1) your original question ("is there a delay in the publishing of photos in GE?") was answered; 2) I gave a warning to be on topic.

The healthy discussion can continue here. The community spirit is hardly fulfilled if you step up questioning a decision from a moderator. On what basis? Derailing a thread is a good cause for locking it. Mind you, it is exactly what you are doing here.

People can share their views all over the forum. I locked a thread, not the whole forum.

If you want to  continue questioning my decision or chiming in here with an opinion unrelated to the issue dealt with in this thread, please open a new thread.

If you want to keep asking if anyone else has noticed a delay in the appearance of photos in GE, please use any of the numerous threads dealing with this matter which haven't been locked because people stay on topic.

Thanks

I'm confused because this thread pertains to an issue about stats being incorrect, an issue which is important to me and which remains unresolved. The thread started by paulosbrumbos, "Anybody else noticing a general delay in pics appearing on GE?" is about a delay in transfer of photos from Panoramio to Google Earth. Two different subjects. Why redirect that thread here? I would prefer to keep this thread on topic. Thanks.

It was you precisely who derailed the thread opened by paulosbrumbos by saying the Team is not making any commitments, even though in this thread Adam Lasnik is replying to you.

If you want to keep this thread on topic don't go round derailing other threads!!

My comment was pertinent and accurate. I did not "derail" the thread. Am I now being punished by having this thread diluted because of some kind of perceived infraction?

You only wanted to complain about the Team not taking action, when, in fact, in this thread Adam Lasnik has replied to you the Team are looking into the bugs, delays, problems, in order to fix them.

No, you are not being punished.

Please continue there and stay on topic!

Regarding the general delay in the showing of photos in GE, please use this new thread.
