Has Google made any further decisions regarding Panoramio?

It looks to me by the posts on this forum that Panoramio is being kept on life support.  But is there any hope of a full recovery?  Or will the service levels and staffing be shut down to the point that people want out.  Then they will be expected to choose the options that Google wanted to implement in the first place.  I don't see any reassurances from Google, nor do I see any deadlines for Panoramio's demise.  Or am I simply missing the obvious?

You are not missing the obvious.  There is currently nobody from Google communicating about Panoramio.  The on multiple levels, the leadership of the Google geo products (Google Maps, Googe Earth, Panoramio, and even Views) has all moved to other projects, and there is no clear information on anyone being in charge.  It is not clear that at the next level up, that they even know that Panoramio exists.

I don't think Panoramio is on life support.  I just think that we are lucky that most of the pieces have not totally failed yet.  Those pieces that have failed in the last 10 months or so have not been fixed.

I think all the help is pulled back. No life support, no medication, nothing!
At Google they hope Panoramio will slowly die a silent death when no help is available.
A lot of users already gave up.
Only the die-hards remain!

Yes, it is a shame that Google continues to support this vegetative state of PA. It is a pitty that Google still not has realized that the core of Panoramio is its users and that they should show some respect. Looking at the history of Google concerning the acquiring- and discontinueing of products, it looks as if  they are continuing on this path.....

Sounds like another opportunity to half-do the job then abandon it
