Now you can (optionally) connect your Panoramio account to a Google+ Page you own

We've now made it much easier for you to connect your Panoramio account to a +Page, like "Fred's Photography" or "California Coastline Preservation Society" etc.  Even if you currently have the +Page on a different Google account, you can always transfer ownership of it to take advantage of this option.

Hypothetical example:  Heike has a Panoramio account linked to HeikeSch...@gmail.com.  But she wants to have the photos associated instead with "Wunderbar Photos."  Her partner actually owns that page on his Google account, so she asks him to transfer ownership* (via Google+), and then -- after a mandatory seven day waiting period (for users' protection) -- she's able to own that page and then connect it to her Panoramio account.  Henceforth, all her Panoramio photos will be associated with "Wunderbar Photos."

To make the connection, just follow the "connect" prompt at the top of any Panoramio page, and then select which +Page you'd like to connect your Panoramio account to.

Hi Adam, thanks for extended options for connection.

I tried "Connect" link and I've got this message:

"We have encountered a temporary problem and could not complete your request: Unexpected internal error. Please try again in 30 seconds."

I also think this help and info directly linked from upgrade hint http://www.panoramio.com/help/gplus-faq shall be updated. I suppose, we will keep our Panoramio nickname and avatar when connecting to G+ page (unlike connection to G+ profile).

Yes, but I guess you must set the avatar and name in the connected G+ page settings, just like G+ page connected YouTube accounts.

Tomas, that's strange... we'll investigate, and sorry for the issue.

Also, Roar is right... if you connect to a Google+ Page, your profile will adopt the profile photo and name of that Page, indeed just like on YouTube.

OK, thank, good idea Adam!

I was logged in G+ and also in Panoramio, while I was receiving that generic error.

After logging out and logging in back again it seems to be OK (perhaps some cookies version mismatch) - I landed on "proceed with connect screen".

Need to say, I did not dare to proceed. ;-)

The connection is irreversible.

I don't know when you made the connection, but I don't think Google + will accept your "Family photographer.ie" according to their current names' rules.

Few days ago I deleted my G+ account and few minutes ago I discovered that all my photos from panoramio disappeared, PLease help me to get back my pictures . Laura, it is sad situation... very likely you have deleted Google Account (not only G+ Account). This way you have also deleted all services provided through Google Account login, including Panoramio.

If this is your case, you shall try to recover your Google Account. If successful, it has to recover also your Panoramio account.
